Why does Mora build the Bushcraft Pathfinder knife as a partial tang? Why not a full tang?

A Mora needs a full tang as much as a Ferrari needs a huge engine. What matters are the strength of the steel, the strength of the handle, and the knife construction. More tang would add unnecessary weight. Moras are easy to use because they function as lightweight, oversized, and super-tough razor blades........or splitting wedges: There is a video online of someone batoning 4 inch thick branches with a Mora 731, which has a blade width of 1/10" and a partial tang. I cringed while watching the video. Nothing happened to the knife or the handle. Nothing came loose. Mora has a tang similar to a rat tail, with the tang gradually tapering instead of having a Kabar-like square shoulder. The Mora taper removes a critical stress point. All embedded in a handle that is the "titanium" of synthetics. Don't let the partial tang fool you. You will have unparalleled performance to look forward to.

What is the purpose of the strap on the back of the sheath? Just received mine & love the knife, just curios.

The strap allows you to weave it through MOLLE webbing on backpacks, tactical gear, and other compatible systems. There are good videos on usage of MOLLE systems available on YouTube.-K

I have a concern i bought 2 4.3 companions and 2 pathfinder blades and one set says carbon steel on the blade but the other set only say carbon?

Same steel, great knives. You'll enjoy them for a long time. Will say even Moras stainless is a very nice quality and depending on weather where you live could serve a great purpose.
