It's a good idea for a gift to a young child who might use it for a few days and then forget about it. It isn't expensive, so you get what you pay for. It's okay.Buena idea para regalito. No es fuerte para usar muchisimo tiempo, pero sirve buen proposito. Vale lo que cuesta.

It was super cool for a kid but kind of expensive considering a few days later I saw it way cheaper.

I'm surprised that the Smithsonian allowed their name to be attached to this. It's very cheaply made. It functions, but only so long as it lasts. If you don't handle it gently, the plastic parts begin to fall apart. We gave it to a 7 year old (maybe that was our mistake), and it the eyepiece of the telescope fell out within a week. I attempted to glue the piece back in, which gave it another few days of use, until that gave way too.Not worth the money, unless you just want a toy that doesn't last. Better off spending more money to get one that's better made.

This is basically a novelty gift. Obviously for the price you must know what you’re getting. It’s currently a decorative piece on my desk

It was nothing like the picture made it look like ! It was very cheaply made, and it barely made a difference looking through it . Isnt a telescope to see things closer ? If so DONT BBBI OTGER WITH THIS UNIT
