Ultimate Kit

This is a relatively easy to assemble kit to get yourself an ADS-B In capability that is much more affordable than the pre-built alternatives. The instructions were clear and everything went together easily except that the connector to interface one of the antenna cables to its USB card was updated since the documentation was made. I did have a little trouble getting the connector firmly attached. Just took some patience, but I got it together. I bought one of the battery packs, the suction cup cradle, and the power cable with the push button that were recommended on the stratux web site. It all works flawlessly and stays where I put it on a window. I use this with iFly EFB on my Samsung Galaxy Android tablet and have no problems at all. I've also flown with this connected simultaneously to my device and my right seater's iPhone and it works seamlessly.

Works as advertised, but it came with a corrupt micro sd. Not too bad to program the sd. I was PO'd at the time tho. One thing I don't like, I got the recommended battery and if you turn it on before the charge cable is powered or connected, it powers down for a moment. Screws up the bootup, starts over again.

Straight forward relatively easy assembly. It works great in my vintage aircraft. Go with the large antennas the small ones don’t work well. Connecting to it is easy and multiple devices can connect and get the data.

Yeah you'll have to buy the Raspberry Pi 3 board separate, so what. It's still $150 less getting the DIY kit vs buying $400 pre-assembled. If you want to spend that much, get a Sentry from Sporty's/ForeFlight. I was, no exaggeration, running the Stratux 15 minutes from the time I got my box. It's all plug and play, takes very little time at all to assemble and operate. Fltplan Go is showing me airline traffic 70 miles away right now. On the ground you won't see much - mostly direct LOS traffic and no Wx. Get it in the air and the display comes alive with radar, targets, TAFs, METAR, PIREPs; everything a GA pilot needs (the towers broadcast up, mostly.) The other big advantage is service - should anything conk out, buy a new bit and swap the offending piece. And the Reddit gang at r/Stratux is always present to help if you get stuck. I added two extras to mine - first is a VK-162 GPS antenna puck and a USB pigtail, both to get more reliable GPS locks and to plug/unplug the antenna when not in use. The other is a 24k mAh 65w Anker brick for powering not only this unit, but also keeping my iPad charged.

This is my second replacement, and I have the same issue, after hours working fine, but now I just turned on the device, and the AHRS sensor already not working, It's ok for hobbyists' use but not for professional use please be aware! save money and buy better.

Everything needed to assemble a stratux (minutes the pi board) but the UAT SDR does not seem to work. Haven’t been able to get any signals even flying above towers.

The external GPS antenna is super fragile. Broke off while removing.just like "Ryan T. Springer" review below. Bought a "Geekstory Active GPS+GLONASS Navigation Antenna with SMA Male" and "HiLetgo 5pcs U.FL-1 to SMA Female Pigtail Antenna Wi-Fi Coaxial Low Loss Cable 6 inch (15cm)" to replace for $22. AVOID this "Ultimate" kit and buy the basic with theses parts and the mounting kit.

There are no instructions, but you can find videos online. Product as advertised, aside from the software on the SD card not working. Again, one video search later I updated the software and all is well. Reception is good and consistent, can't ask for much more. Traffic and ads-b radar worked just as well as any other adsb receiver ive ever used, such as the sentry or stratus or a gdl 50. The GPS signal constantly changes accuracy randomly from 10m-93m, so I disabled it in Foreflight and chose to use my iPad's stock GPS. Overall great alternative if you don't want to shell out the extra money for a sentry. Ordered a raspberry pi 3b+ to complete the build.

Great, affordable kit for ADS-B and GPS input. Very helpful as has improved traffic awareness as well as allow me to do navigating using my wireless Ipad.

Das Gerät funktioniert mit der mitgelieferten US Software. Die Bauanleitung ist allerdings etwas knapp und geht nicht auf den Anschluss der externen GPS Antenne ein. Das erfordert etwas kreative Phantasie, wie wohl die gelieferten Zusatzteile zu verwenden sind. Damit klappts dann auch.
