These bags are reusable until they fall apart and if they do, you can use them still as a wrap and put a piece of tap to close it up. If you couldn't reuse them it would be incredibly cost prohibitive. I don't care if the bags look "a little worn" as another person commented. They are in the drawer in my refrigerator - I couldn't care less how worn they look.

Q: How long will parmigiano reggiano last?

I have discovered that hard cheeses like parmigiano reggiano last a long time. I've had a wedge of it in the storage bag now for several weeks and it's fine. I take it out to grate it so that I always have freshly grated cheese for pasta dishes.

Q: They don't give dimensions or volume for bags. How big of a piece of cheese do they hold?

They are 11x6.5x1. It will hold a flat cut of cheese but would not recommend a wedge cut from a wheel. However I do not recommend these bags if youdont eat your cheese quickly. Wax paper is cheaper and does just as good a job or good ole plastic wrap like the grocery stores use in deli dept

I think if you seal it well, you should be able to store grated cheese. I haven't tried it though. You could also use the sheets and fold the grated cheeseinside like a butcher would for meat, but I think I'd still try the bags first, and then fold it over a couple of times. I've never had a piece of cheese dry up in these bags, nor have I when storing in the sheets, and that's whether the cheese has been in small chunks and/or slices (as when one has left over cut cheese from a party).

Perfect

I have been using these for years. They are awesome for your hard cheeses. They stay fresh and it's the perfect storage solution for your fridge. I use the labels from the cheese and tape them on the bags so I always know how long the cheese is good for and how long I have had it. They are easy to use and quite strong. They work great.

Great way too protect cheese

I found these bags wonderful to work with. I wrap the cheese in wax or parchment paper for extra protection. The cheese freshness last for a very long time and cheese reminder helps in labeling the cheese. The bags seal and protect the cheese from drying and mold has not been a problem. The bags are durable as long as you don't get them wet.

Great way to keep cheese fresh!

Love these bags! They do exactly as described. My family eats a lot of cheese and we enjoy trying all kinds from around the world. It’s an expensive “hobby” so keeping the cheese fresh is important. I was skeptical, but I’ve used three bags so far on twice as many fresh cheeses and they’ve stayed fresh as though they were just unwrapped for the first time. The bags are reusable which is a plus, and you can write on the outside of the bag to keep track of what cheese is in which bag.Worth the price as I think they will last me for a couple of years to come!

Ok bags

These are great bags but the reason for 4 stars is that they are only reusable if you put the exact same type cheese in the same bag when you get new cheese. In other words you can not put Edam cheese in the bag after finished then put you put Havarty cheese in it.It does keep cheese well

Easy cheese storage, and the cheese stays in fresh condition

My second order of this product just arrived, and I'm very glad for its still being available. Cheese keeps well in the bag, and stays in the original fresh condition. It keeps for quite a length of time although, like any storage method I've used, at some point, cheese will start to mold. Very easy storage, too; just put the cheese in the bag and fold over.
