Great Siphon Pump
Simple product but very useful. I had a push gas mower that lasted 18 years and would still be going strong if it didn't start rusting away and throwing shrapnel at me. I drained the tank every year and it never failed to start immediately next season. After hurricane Sandy I purchase a generator and want it to last. Rather that add a fuel stabilizer I would rather keep the tank dry. I will run it a few times every spring, summer and fall. It was too full to run dry so I bought this TRDP15 Heavy Duty Liquid Transfer Pump and it worded as advertised. Got most of the gas out and only had to run it a short time to empty the tank.I also have a bad back so it is also good for transferring gas to a lighter tank or directly into the generator. Can also be used to drain a fish tank (use a separate pump-gas residue not good for fish) or drain water from a swimming pool cover or many other draining or transfer situations. This pump is much safer than trying to created suction be using you mouth and very inexpensive.

Wonderful product!
This siphon is perfect for removing excess water from houseplant containers. I have several large indoor plants that I keep in black nursery containers. I nest each container on a couple of bricks inside a decorative planter with no drainage holes (to protect my floor). Every couple of weeks, I remove the standing water left inside the planters. I've tried several ways to remove it -- my battery-operated siphon clogged up with bits of soil and stopped working, the intake diameter of my bilge pump is too large to fit between the container and planter, and my 1/4" hand-pump siphon takes forever to empty a quart of water. This heavy-duty, high-speed siphon is amazing for this application. I don't need to start a siphoning action; I just squeeze it repeatedly, and it transfers quarts of water in well under a minute. Wonderful product!

Works even on lawn mower and snow blower tanks
I bought this siphon even though the reviews were conflicting on whether it would work on small engine tanks like a lawn mower or snow blower. Some reviews said this was due to the long, wide draw tube and not enough gas in the tank to create and maintain the flow. Some said that shortening the draw tube would solve the problem. This made sense to me so I thought I'd give it a try. There was less than half a tank in my snow blower. The siphon didn't create a constant flow and I had to keep squeezing the bulb. I'm sure this was due to the amount of gas and size of the draw tube, but wasn't a big deal as it only took 4 or 5 squeezes to drain the tank. This was much better than the turkey baster I was using. The siphon didn't completely drain the tank and I used the baster to get most of the remaining gas. Shortening the draw tube might drain more gas, but I don't think it would be a significant difference. The manufacturer must have read the reviews that complained the siphon didn't come with instructions because mine did.Overall, I would recommend this siphon. I bought it specifically to drain gas from my lawn mower and snow blower at the end of the season. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is the length and diameter of the draw tube is too long and wide to work perfectly on small tanks, but it does work, drains fast and got the majority of the gas. The turkey baster took me 15-20 minutes to drain the tank. This siphon took a few seconds followed by 6-10 fill ups of the the baster.

Works with Motor Oil
I pumped 5W40 Synthetic Diesel motor oil from a 5 gallon container (cheaper that way) into a smaller 5 quart container with no problem. Just kept pumping about 15 or so Pump's. Better than pouring it out without the mess. Works great for transferring Diesel fuel as well.

Excellent value for the money!!!!
Terapump TRDP15, Excellent Siphon PumpThis is not my first Terapump TRDP15. I ordered my first in 2014. The first recently gave up from age and mis-use. When it first arrived I attempted to take it apart, only to find it is heat fused together. I did my best to put it together with fuel line sealant, but after two years it started to loose suction. Its a fantastic device for the money. I also have one of the cheap $5-8 siphon's from the local box store. The cheapie doesn't hold a candle to the speed and ease of operation of this siphon. The secret: larger, longer tubes.I've not timed the flow, but if it doesn't do 5 gallons in a minute it's darn close to it.I use it mainly to refill my generator with gasoline. As some might know if the generator stops unexpectantly the peanut gallery starts looking for someone to kill. I know how much fuel we use, keep an eye an the clock, let everyone know we'll be without power while I refill and all is slightly better. The peanut gallery is unhappy but not murderous. This device makes it faster and easier to refuel. Pouring fuel on a hot generator is downright stupid. My TRDP15 is the smart safe way to refuel. As long as I don't rush I don't miss a drop. Safer and cleaner. The instruction quickly go over the secret to safe operation. When you press the button on top, do so a bit before you want flow to stop. Those larger hoses hold a bit of fluid. Press before you want it to stop AND hold the button down till the exit tube is empty.Good luck. Be safe.

Does t fit a barrel
This does not fit the across hole of a 55 gallon barrel it’s not even close 1/2 inch estimated difference in diameter.

it's ok
This pump is ok. It needs a better way to brake the siphon than a knob, a button would have been much better. The fuel it moves is truly large. You can put 5 gal in your car in about 1 min.Overall, I would'nt buy anothor one as it is jest to big for me, the siphon brake is hard to use and it needs a bag to put it in.
