Will these work with a Red Derailleur? Since the ceramic ones cost 10 times as much....

Yes they will. Do no toss the screws either as they do not come with the jockey wheels. I run Red on my s5 and did not notice any difference between these jockey wheels and the red ones I'd had originally.

I have 2011 9Spd XO derailleur ...will it fit ?

It should knock on wood. I bought these pulleys for the same derailleur but a 2013. I don't think there were a lot changes to tp the pulleys themselves during that time period.

are the top and bottom wheels really different from each other?

It's not that the top and bottom wheels are different. It's the inset for the axles that differs. One has a little more play -- or at least it did on mine. There's also the recommended direction of rotation (noted by a barely discernible arrow on the wheel, too.) Here's post on that subject: http://www.socaltrailriders.org/forum/showthread.php?t=67455. Yours might differ on the manufacturer and year.
