This is a blast from the past. I used to get it from the company through a salesman. I was surprised to find it on Amazon. It only takes half as much as imitation vanilla. Thanks, guys.

I use this Wilton clear vanilla primarily for decorating sugar cookies. Keeping icing bright and white is important. Traditional vanilla extract tends to tint royal icing a beige or off-white color, but this clear version keeps everything looking crisp and clean. Flavor-wise, it's definitely an imitation vanilla, so it doesn’t have the depth or warmth of pure vanilla extract. That said, it still adds a sweet, pleasant vanilla scent and taste—especially once mixed into icing or baked goods. It’s ideal when color matters more than complexity of flavor. Another plus is that the bottle has a narrow spout which helps control the pour and avoid waste. A little goes a long way. I've had no issues with separation or off smells, and the shelf life is awesome. Overall, this is a must-have in my bsking toolkit. I wouldn’t use it for high-end baking where vanilla is a star ingredient, but for cookies, frosting, and cakes that need to stay visually bright—this is my go to every time. Pros: - Keeps icings bright white - Sweet, clean vanilla flavor - Easy to pour and great shelf life Cons: - Not as deep a flavor as real vanilla - Slight artificial aftertaste if too heavy handed

Recommend if you want to bake light color cookies, cakes or mix light colored icing. The vanilla quality is what you expect for a cheaper brand. The price was average to elsewhere that I've gotten it. Flavor is fine.

Very sharp-tasting Vanilla, Worth the money spent, very tasty.

It's o.k. I don't have a lot of experience with clear vanilla and have only used real vanilla, so in comparison to the real thing, this just doesn't rank. It tastes to us more like marshmallows. It did give the frosting a reasonable flavor and it did let me get a pure white, but it just isn't what I would call a good real vanilla flavor. Because clear vanilla is imitation vanilla, I'm not sure I expected it to be like real vanilla, but I guess I expected it to be closer.

I own a small business making custom sugar cookies, and I have tried countless brands of vanilla over the years. This Watkins Clear Vanilla is, without a doubt, the best I have ever used. The Pros: • Flavor: The flavor profile is significantly improved compared to other clear vanillas I've tried. It doesn't have that artificial chemical aftertaste; it just tastes like quality vanilla. • Perfect for Decorating: The biggest selling point for me is that it is crystal clear. When you are making royal icing, using brown vanilla can ruin your bright whites. This keeps my icing perfectly white without sacrificing flavor. The Cons: • Shipping/Packaging: The only reason I hesitate is the way Amazon ships it. It is often tossed loose into a cardboard box with no bubble wrap or padding. Because of this, the cap is almost always popped off when it arrives. • Note: The bottle is hermetically sealed underneath the cap, so the vanilla itself has never been leaking or compromised, but it is annoying to have to hunt for the cap in the box every time. Verdict: If you need clear vanilla for baking or decorating, buy this. The product itself is 10/10, just be prepared for the cap to be loose in the box!
