Yes, the cover unzips and is removable. The first time I took it apart, some of the pillow was stuck to the cover, but it came unstuck and didn’t harm either side. I wash and dry with my baby clothes. Make sure to line the Velcro all the way up so that it doesn’t snag any clothing.

Do they sell Velcro extenders? The Velcro keeps coming undone during nursing

I didn't like the velcro so I bought the original slip cover for mine. I like the adjustable strap of the original.
