It did not work in my situation but the doorstop was well made with good directions. My gap between the door and threshold was too wide and my floor with a thin door mat on top was too high. I ended up installing a thin oak threshold over my existing threshold and it solved the problem and looks fine. The threshold works ok but it only raises up 3/8 of an inch or so not enough to solve my original dilemma

I love that it can seal at a tilt because it has two separate hinges, so if your floor/door isn't perfectly level this is the perfect and only solution I've found.This is a really solid door sweep. It's all metal, and thick gauge. Not high enough quality for commercial use, but suitable for heavy residential use. Rubber would have been better than vinyl for the price. Make sure to measure your door and make sure it's 32-36 inches before getting this. One reviewer said you can only saw off 2 inches. That is not true, I just measured the mechanism with a ruler, and 4 inches can safely be sawed off. 4-1/4" is where the mechanism is. The phone support must not be trained very well but the instructions are written in *real* English. It is no more complex or hard to understand than replacing a door knob. The concept of this threshold is simple enough I really have a hard time understanding how they managed to fail so completely. As others have said this unit was a PITA to install.

Great idea but the item was made poorly. The instructions were terible.

It all looked fairly easy. I was wrong. The step-by-step instructions were, at the same time both clear and vague. I carefully laid everything out first and looked it over. I carefully read the instructions a few times. I began at the beginning and about 3 hours later finally had a working door sweep. The amount of torque needed to force down the sweep caused my old door to move sideways on it's hinges and it wouldn't shut. So I had to remove the door, replace hinges, plane the door narrower and reinstall. After that adjustment, the sweep was out of alignment for the striking/contact point to line up and operate correctly. Last, I fabricated a special, thicker strike plate so I wouldn't have to drill new holes and re-mount the whole sweep assembly again. In the end, it works. But it wasn't easy

When we had wall-to-wall carpeting installed some years ago, the base of our front door had to be trimmed to provide adequate clearance over the carpeting. To reduce the entry of cold air in winter, a succession of hinged (drop-type) door sweeps were installed. None of these provided a good seal, and all wore out after several years of use. Seal-O-Matic is the first to provide a highly effective seal and appears to be of much more durable construction. Contrary to instructions, shortening of the end which activates dropping of the vinyl seal (a simple modification) proved essential to properly fit the sweep to our door. Otherwise, cutting of the drop assembly at the opposite end of the sweep would have been necessary and inadvisable. The instructions should have dealt with this complication.

This works great. If I you have a door that hits or drags on the floor, carpet or rug this will probably do the trick. Keep in mind that the sweep will raise perhaps about 3/8 inch. This works in my case, but make sure you follow the easy instructions. You'll need a hack saw with fine blade, drill and bits and screw drivers. The only hard part may be properly positioning the strike plate on the hinge side. I had a rubber seal which made me design something to make sure the working portion of the sweeps hits the strike correctly so the sweeps is pushed against the door threshold. Just READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!

I was disappointed as to the sweeps failure to drop and seal when door was closed. I have 2 remaining. Help me return them please. I would not say I 'hated it' because the sweep has thedesign intent of what I needed. It was the mechanical design that didn't work well. Even with this purchase from Amazon, I would not hesitate to continue to go to Amazon to purchase in thefuture.Thank you...

届いたパッケージが最悪でした。製品も少し曲がっていたように思います。取付は非常に面倒です。説明書は英語ですが、一番重要なポイントが書いていない。この製品を取り付ける場合は、開いた状態で何かを挟んで閉じないように製品を固定してください。その上で必要寸法にカットして、位置を決めて固定してください。何とか取り付けたら、意外と見た目も悪くなく、ちゃんとドアを閉めたときシールが下がりました。

Harder to install than expected and makes a bit of a spring noise still.

Works but the plastic button that does the opening broke off after only one day

This product is complete garbage. It does not seal against any threshold that has a slope or a drop, which most thresholds do (to ensure rain water drains away from the door). It is rickety and cheaply made. I will never buy a product from MD again... period.
