Crystal Body Deodorant, Rock, 5 Ounce

I had rock deodorant long ago but finding the exact kind took a while. THIS IS IT. A WONDERFUL effective product...Really works. Some of the others I tried caused irritation but not this one. I'm SO GLAD to have finally found the right kind. It really works and is so easy to use and lasts and lasts. I like the little dish that comes with it which keeps it secure inside the medicine cabinet. I use this daily. I just wet it and rub it 5 or 6 times in each arm pit. That's IT! It really works and lasts at least 24 hours. There is No smell with the rock and no worry about the chemicals in the deodorants. This EXCELLENT healthy alternative is all I need. Since puberty I’ve smelled like a sandwich shop. 😭 it’s not from aluminum detoxing. I’m an apocrine sweat person, have been since day one. I don’t really get wet, I just bring the stink 😆😭 and have since I was literally 9. 😭 This salt crystal and panoxyl 4% acne body wash on my pits in the shower has been game changing for me. Mostly the crystal, which is wild because it’s not even scented. It helps the stink bacteria really struggle to thrive. The acne wash on your pits kills bacteria and helps the environment in there. I let it sit for a minute or two a couple times a week. Sometimes for scent or extra protection I’ll also layer a spritz of natural spray deo on top of the mineral salt once it’s dry. Or swipe a natural deo stick *around* my pits, not on top of it. Deo sticks pill when you layer on top of salt deodorant. It’s possible to make it work by using a small amount on your fingers and pushing in into your pits, not rubbing it on. But there’s always a chance it can pill. Spray is easiest for layering and adding fragrance if you choose to layer. I get the crystal wet and rub it on pretty intensely because it’s hard to tell if anything is even going on you lol. Then I use a little handheld fan to dry and “set” my pits. 😆 with these natural deos, they mostly succeed or fail due to application in my experience so yes I am being extra. And the protection I get all day is worth it. Plus, it’s faster than just standing there with your arms up waiting for it to dry. In the beginning I had to do 2-3 layers. When my pits felt powdery I knew I had enough on. I think the salt has killed a lot of the bacteria deep in my pits and now I’m down to one layer. If I can rub my finger across my dry pit and my armpit feels powdery and I can feel the salt grit on my fingers, I know I’m good. And I’ve been letting it air dry half the time now instead of using the handheld fan. But I DO think in the beginning the OCD process of doing layers and using the fan to dry it definitely helped me convert and helped it do its thing. I pulled my back one week and got over 24 hours with no smell when I couldn’t fully shower one of the days. Don’t be afraid to layer especially in the beginning. Dry each layer. It feels like absolutely nothing is on there compared to regular deodorant paste/barrier sticks. It’s strange at first and you don’t feel protected, but then it feels great and you don’t smell. No white marks or yellow stains. No clumpy, musky, uncomfortable paste by lunch. Your sweat is coming out like it’s supposed to and your pits aren’t swollen. I don’t mind sweat, I don’t like smell. I shave my pits (gently and with the grain) and I have zero burning or irritation using this right after. My pits felt really soft after it dried too. I get why this crystal deodorant has a cult following. It’s so stupid simple, it works and is SO cost effective. I can’t believe I didn’t know about this stuff!!

I thought I'd give crystal deodorant a try since I tend to struggle with excess sweat. But, regular antiperspirants with aluminum salts tend to clog my pores, are difficult to wash off, and irritated my skin. This is a good option as it can be used all over the body. While not as effective as the traditional aluminum salt stick antiperspirant deodorant it does work. The crystal leaves a layer of potassium alum on your skin to make an antibacterial barrier preventing bacteria from proliferating and breaking down your sweat which is where the smell comes from. The potassium aluminum salt does act as an astringent and antiperspirant to prevent sweat as well. I have used this on freshly shaved skin too and found no irritation. The crystal is large and hard and should last for years. It is better to wet the skin than the stone for the stone to last. Caution, potassium alum disrupts the crystal structure of marble and granite so it should not touch another stone surface. I have found this easy to use when fresh out of the shower by adding it in a circular motion on clean damp to wet skin. It adds protection for at least half a day with better results seen when reapplied at least once to twice a day. This is unscented. I add a scented aluminum free deodorant for scent alone.

I almost gave it a 5 stars, but the one downside is that I do need to apply a little more often, & if I am not showering everyday it doesn't work quite as well. I waited to write this though because I wanted to test it. I went on a big hike with some co-workers, I was dripping in sweat & didn't stink! Hahaha. Also at work, & it has been pretty warm as the AC isn't working right, so I've been sweating, but haven't noticed a stench (also, I did ask a few co-workers to let me know if they smell me since I was trying out a new deodorant... hahaha, no complaints yet & they have said no I don't stink when I've asked, hahaha). Good think I have some pretty cool co-workers. So the only times I find it doesn't work super well, is if on the weekend I'm just at home so I don't shower... if I reapply morning & night (which I usually but not always do, as a night showerer I apply right out of the shower & then before I change for work). But day two, even if I have reapplied both times of day I find I do notice a slight smell. It's not terrible or super strong, but I notice when I sort of text by lifting an arm & trying to smell. However, with daily showering it seems to work really well! Sorry if that was tmi... hahahaha.

I cannot believe this works as great as it does. deodorant is so expensive, we were spending $16 a month on deodorant. We bought this, now go all day and no unpleasant body odor or just normal body scent that's not unpleasant at all. Its lasting a long time. probably get 6-10 months or longer use for 2 people. Not to be weird but my wife uses it and by the end of the day she has a wonderful female pheromone natural scent that's actually amazing! Regular deodorant masks all that. Just be careful when putting the salt cube back in its tray, try to get as much moisture off of it as you can because when it dries there might be some sharp crystal edges that formed and might cut you. Just use your fingers and rub around on the cube to check before use. This works wonders and we love it!

I originally got this because I was looking for an alternative to regular deodorant as the one I was using previously started leaving me rashes (I think it was a change in their formula) anyways after a lot of research I came across this crystal rock 100% expecting it not to work. I read a ton of reviews and gathered the good and the bad and figured to try it out. First off I will say I do think this product is not for people who want to rush and want it to start working right away. I will also second that by saying what most comments say "Everybody's body type works differently". That all being said though I think there are a few things I learned based off several scattered reviews to make this successful (at least this is how it's been working for me). 1. Dont hold the rock under the water that long. Grip it turn on and off the water fast and ONLY water the tip on where you will be applying it under your arm. 2. Apply but pick a motion. I like to circle it all around my arms and all around the outer edges of my under arm area. NOT just the center. If you do just the center what I noticed is the smell starts to escape to those outer areas but not the center. Very strange. You will need to do this for a while. I go back and forth from applying under my arm to re-watering it again for at least 4 min for EACH arm. (this is where the patience part comes in). Yes your underarm will be wet, (dont go too fast cause then it will for sure slip out of your hand) but trust me patience makes it happen. Listen to a song or small YT video while applying to pass the time. 3. When I am done I rinse it under the water again but then dry vigorously with a DRY towel. I did notice when you use a damp towel to dry it the rock will smell but if you use a dry towel the smell does go away. And then I put back in the dish. From reading other reviews it sounds like if you just leave the stone to dry on its own this causes the sharp crystal cracks that will make your underarm start to break out. Also to note I apply this twice a day. Always after a shower but if I don't shower I water under my arm a bit to get damp and then do the above steps. Guys..I know I have terrible BO after being in sports for so many years and forgetting to wear deodorant but after doing the above I haven't smelt bad once. (ok one time when I forgot to apply) but its been holding strong! I do really think you need to be patient with the results and make sure you take the time to apply it correctly. This is not just a water and throw under for a few seconds and be done. If you want that result then you need to get regular deodorant. Last note. There will be times where due to the water little carvings will start to edge out on the stone (yes they do hurt do not use those areas under your arms), what I do is I always put face down the smoothest part of the stone after I super dry it and ONLY use that part of the stone. Other areas around it will start to crack or mess us. Do not go crazy and start randomly switching sides when applying. Pick a side and remember it by putting it face down so when you grab the stone you just need to turn it to the side and apply the water. Hope this long review helped someone. Long story short works for me great thus far!

I like this product but it does scratch you but again I think I need to use another side. It controls the odor.

Many deodorants I have tried give me a rash, so in my searches for something to keep me from stinking AND not having a rash, I came upon this. It is a naturally occurring mineral salt crystal. I have not looked back. This works - as I understand it - by leaving a thing film of the salt crystal on your skin, and that salt is antibacterial, so no bacteria, no odor. I apply it immediately after I get out of the shower, every time, - just rub the crystal over my wet underarm skin a bunch of swipes, and I am done. It takes several days to get the full affect at first - it may be slightly absorbed into the top layer of skin ?maybe? But after the first few days you are good! No irritation, no stench! Yea! And yes, if I forget and don't, by the end of the day I am fully aware I forgot, so don't miss even once. If you get dried off and then remember that you forgot, just run a little tap water onto the crystal first, then rub for each arm, same effect. I have a female friend who also applies it to her nether region as she has issues there in addition to her under arms, and she says 👍all good! These crystals can last a very long time! So they are VERY economical. There is no white residue to rub off on your clothes, and any of the salt gets on you clothes, it simply rinses out, so easier on your clothes, and no need to spend a lot of extra time scrubbing the deodorant waxes out of your clothes. No plastic containers to dispose of (my last one came in a small muslin bag, this one has a plastic dish to sit in on the counter, but since it lasts forever, way less plastic containers or cans for the trash, no propellant to ruin the ozone layer, no waxy residual to wash into the ground water with the accompanying extra detergent... And since this is a naturally occurring and very easy to grow crystal, the manufacturing is so much cleaner than most other deodorants, so Win Win! I have been very happy with this manufacturer's crystals, they are clear and solid, no crack faults that would cause them to shatter, so they stay an easily held crystal. And, it is worth saying again, they last a VERY long time.

At first I was skeptical about this product but it turned out to be a new concept in personal higiene (Which in many cultures is not new!) If you care for your money and environment there’s no discussion in getting this item. My husband and I have been using it for over an year now. Shirts are no longer yellowish, and surprisingly no nasty smells!!
