This worked great with some older bell pepper seeds that wouldn't sprout no matter what I tried! I used the last of the seeds and 7 out of 10 sprouted and are growing well in my greenhouse, waiting for spring.

I use these for starting seeds, keeping plants warm, keeping animals warm, keeping animal water from freezing, and on the rare occasion, as a foot warmer. They work very well and I haven’t had any issue yet. They hold up to some minor abuse from chickens and rabbits just fine. I have noticed the heavier the pressure on one spot, the hotter that spot gets. I wouldn’t recommend putting something too heavy on the matt that may cause a problem. Otherwise, these things have been literal life savers.

Initially this worked well. It’s a pretty good price and holds itself at the proper temperature for sprouting plants. However…it went bad after a couple years, stopped heating. It is waterproof, so that’s nice.

I was surprised that this item came from USA. It had USA plug and not useable in UK. I tried using it using a plug converter. Within 30 mins it become hot to touch and not a good thing to do. You really need a voltage converter as USA uses 110 voltage which is different from UK. I returned it.

If buying from the UK be aware that this has a US plug and is 110v so can't be used in the UK without a transformer.
