10 years and going strong. Great for crafts, household repairs, dogs nails, and more.
I bought one of these in 2016, and right out of the box I was very pleased. In fact, I came back and bought a second one right away, just in case, as a backup. Well it's now 10 years later, and the backup unit is still sitting brand new in its box. This suits my needs perfectly. Easy to change speed, and has handled everything I have thrown at it on either end of the spectrum. I use it for crafts, some minor home repairs, and to do my dog's nails. Prior to purchasing this unit, I had owned three rechargeable dremels, but I always ended up having battery issues, with their lifespan being much too short for my liking, and I was just tired of having to either get a new battery or a new machine. I'm so glad that I did,. I pretty much always use the attachment, and it was a game changer for me, especially when it comes to doing my dog's nails. Not only is it much easier and more comfortable to hold and maneuver, but also the sound of the motor is no longer right in there personal space, which they greatly prefer. I have a rolling stand that I hang it from, and it couldn't be easier. I just bought some attachments today to assist with my own pedicures, which is what made me say "I wonder if I ever even left a review for this machine?". I don't think you can go wrong for the price.

Worth Every Penny and Then Some!
Used it on several projects so far and this is an Awesome Tool! I love the quality of this rotary tool, especially for the price. The chuck stays tight and the flex shaft is easy to connect and works beautifully! There's a tag on the flex shaft that tells you exactly how to install it, takes about 30 seconds. I bought this one for the fact that it came with a blow molded case and flexshaft, but was pleasantly surprised at the overall feel and function of it. The bits are good quality, and there's a large selection of bits to get you started, but they're kinda jumbled in a little plastic box. The two things I will say that are not as positive are: (1) The case is small so packing it away takes a little effort, maybe 3 minutes to put it away if you take everything out. (2) The variable speed works well and gets up to 30Krpm, but the power could be better. It seems a little on the weak side, but still gets the job done. Of course, I have been working with pneumatic tools and large power tools for two decades, but this is my first mini-tool. Maybe I am being too rough on it. If that is the case, it should get 7 stars because it has been kicking butt for a little machine that's been abused. I do not have a dremel to compare it to, but for the price it has paid for itself many times over in a few days. I almost never leave reviews, but I was so impressed with this little kit that I had to give it the "props" it is due. This thing is a loyal workhorse with a big heart. I look forward to many happy projects together. In fact, I am literally off to start another one right now. Cheers!

Great deal - & it did last a long time. : )
I got my first one a few years ago, & was impressed by the tool, but worried about longevity. No More! I use a Rotary tool a lot, & I won't work without the wand, so this is a no brainer. (I have a dremel, & TWO flex shafts that won't fit it, so now I only buy ones that come with the tool - just to be SURE it fits!) The price of the wands alone are nearly as much as buying this whole tool kit, & I see no real difference between the Wen & the wildly more expensive other brands. It weighs quite a lot, so that wand is essential, & mine works great. (I've used mine HARD for a couple years now, & it still keeps going. . . ) I have it hooked on a pole attached to my workbench, so it's never in the way, and if I drop the wand, it clears the floor, so it doesn't wreck my bits, either. : ) The Only reason I'm back buying another tool, is because my wand started acting up. Not sure why, but I think the black sleeve that holds the wire stretches over time, & eventually disconnects the bit from the wire. Only solution I've found is a new wand, but since they're so expensive, it's silly not to just buy a whole new tool kit. Then, if my tool dies, I've always got a backup, & just a spare that I can leave dedicated to one bit, if I find I need that. These plastic cases are rarely any use to me, and this one's not great, either, but the tool itself is Well worth the money asked. Mostly, the bits included are stones, which I don't use, but All the other brands of bits will fit into this Wen, too. The only things that are Not interchangeable, are the screwed on attachments. I believe the Wen is Metric threads, and the Dremel is Standard threads - hence the nightmare with all the attachments that screw on - like the wands. I bought this for the wand that will certainly fit it, & the price was great, compared to my Dremel and the other two wands I've purchased that won't fit. Heck, just the wands cost as much as this whole setup. Great deal - And mine did last - under heavy use, and filthy conditions. I'm impressed. : )

Perfectly fine tool
I've used it to sharpen up axes and polish away the burrs inside a pistol. A bunch of polishing wheels cost me another 5 dollars. I would like it if the speed could go a little slower, but in practice, it usually slows a little bit when you apply some pressure and I haven't ruined anything with it yet. Recommend for everyone, unbeatable price.

Very reasonably priced, this toll does not disappoint.
Don't let the price scare you. It s a very reasonable price. It comes with everything and does exactly as specified in details. This is by far low end so don't expect high performance, especially at this price. I almost purchased a Dremmel from Walmart and honestly, the only difference I notice in similar Wen was the weight and feel. It's easy to overlook when you find that it does exactly the same thing. I was surprised to find that it was very easy to use. For hobbyists and people needing this for some light type work will find this very capable. When you look at what your getting and do a price comparison, you will see that you are definitely getting a bargain, especially with the case, bits and extension. I have absolutely no problems and put it to work the first hour upon its arrival. I used it for a custom radio installation in my Challenger and it made quick work for cutting and modifying the dash. I'm no professional of any particular industry other than personal and experience and I found this tool very easy to use. Very simple to unbox and get it up and running with minimal guidance. It comes with very simple instructions so make sure you are at least knowledgeable with working with a drill or similar rotary tool. It was more funny than anything but one insert sheet to install the extension was reversed. I had no problem reading it and simply held it up to a mirror and all was fine. Even then, the pictures showed enough that the brief explanation really wasn't needed but still useful. I was skeptical at first but I did my homework and read the reviews and was sold. I have no complaints and really for this price, I have no reason to. Very very pleased with this purchase. The item is durable and does well above and beyond what I expected it to. For those that cannot afford an actual Dremmel, you will find this on par. It's plastic yes, but very durable all the same. I have no regrets whatsoever.

OKAY IF THE QUALITY CONTROL WERE UP TO PAR
I purchased this kit in order to work on a project when my other Dremel malfunctioned. So I got this kit hoping to work on my project and get it done to meet a deadline I had made for myself. Within a week, this WEN 2305 Rotary tool began having problems with the flex shaft. It would not hold any bits. The flex shaft seemed already stripped or simply would not tighten down. So I returned it for another replacement. The second kit had a great flex shaft but the tool itself had no reliable speed control. It would speed up or slow down by itself - and emit blue and silver sparks out the vent now and then. Hmmmm. Not good. So I called Amazon (thank goodness) and they sent me yet a third one and allowed me to pick the best of both. So I kept the good rotary tool from the third set (which also had a weak flex shaft), and I kept the flex shaft from the second kit, and sent the other kit back. Amazon allowed me to do this for all the trouble I had gone through and (bless them) Amazon also sped my replacement kits to me in just a couple days. It appears to me, the quality control of these items is very poor. Wherever they are made, they are not being checked. I would not doubt if many of these are defective and sellers just buy the whole lot of them and dump them in the marketplace where they can hopefully sell a few among the heaps of defective ones. I should not have to go through THREE kits just to find one working kit! But as usual, Amazon came to the rescue (again and again) and made sure I was satisfied. About the kit: Comes with some very small bits and some sanders. These were barely useful to me and I ended up buying my own stainless steel bits specific to my needs. The bits and sanders the kit comes with may work for really small projects like refining or working on small models or pieces of jewelry but that's about it. The motor of the device is strong and even working on a larger model that I am doing, it has more than enough power. It has a roller wheel that you can slowly adjust to increase the speed of the drill as well. Even on my project, sanding resins and refining cast forms, I only have to use a speed level of 1.5 to 2. I have never had to rev it up to the 3 setting. The flex shaft seems to be holding up so far. One thing you should be aware of is that you should not tighten down the collars on these too tight. You want to tighten them enough to keep the bits snug so they don't loosen and fly out but you don't want to tighten them so much that you strip the interior. I was very careful, having had my other Dremel for more than 20 years, and I still have it. Incidently, I ended up buying a replacement part for my Dremel so now I have both tools to work with. I would have given five stars for this item if I had received a fully functioning intact kit to begin with. I didn't expect miracles out of this less expensive device but I did expect quality control and an item that worked.

Works great!
I’ve been using the WEN 2305 Rotary Tool Kit with Flex Shaft for a while now, and it’s turned into one of my go-to tools for woodworking projects. I use it for all kinds of things—detail sanding, carving, engraving, shaping small pieces, and cleaning up tight corners where bigger tools just can’t reach. The included attachments give you a good range to play with right out of the box, so you can jump straight into projects without having to buy a bunch of extras. The flex shaft is the real star for me. It makes detailed work so much easier and more controlled, especially when I’m doing fine carving or engraving on wood. Instead of holding the whole tool, you just hold the pen-style handpiece, which feels way more precise. For the price, it’s hard to beat. It’s not some heavy-duty industrial machine, but for home DIY and woodworking projects, it does a great job and has held up well. If you like doing detailed woodwork or small craft projects, this kit is a really solid addition to the toolbox.

Should have bought this 50 years ago
Awesome tool. I wish I bought one forever ago, this would have made my life so much easier. The tools/attachments included are of decent quality, no troubles so far though I can confirm that the Dremel brand attachments are of slightly higher quality though they do not always fit. That is my only annoyance, I wish it was universally exchangeable with other brands. That considered, this is the best tool I have gotten in the last 5 years and it sees more use than I expected. Little jobs around the house? Grab the Wen. No, seriously. I thought this would be sitting in the bottom of a drawer and used only for specific projects. Need to put more holes in the bottom of your wife's flowerpot? Grab the Wen. Need to cut off a crazy long screw and polish the edges so no kids get hurt? Grab the Wen. Need to cut a plastic bucket in half? No worries, grab the Wen. Putting in a door and need to punch out the door handle? Grab the Wen. Wow. In the past month that I've owned this, I have had more unique and weird reasons to use this tool than I could have ever imagined, even before when I was kicking myself for not having a darn rotary tool. So yeah man, you need this for things you don't even know about yet.

Highly recommended, bang for the buck.
I was looking for a Dremel but sometimes it is very expensive but then I came across this wen rotary toolkit. The product looked very nice and it had a lot of attachments. I was sold by the number of attachments and the FLEX SHAFT. So I thought I should give it a try. I am an amaon prime member so after I ordered it I got it within 2 days. It came in standard amazon packaging so nothing was damaged. The toolkit has its own carrying case which was another factor that I considered while I was planning to buy this. I opened the carrying case and plugged in the rotary tool and man it felt like a heavy duty product. It didn't give a cheap product feel as compared to the price thats it being offered at and all the attachments and the carrying case that it comes with. Just a note that I am not a pro tool user I am an average person who fixes some stuff here and there so I can comment from a viewpoint of a professional person but this tool gets the job done and very quickly. I have used the flex shaft and cutting attachments to cut the screws on my car stere which were jammed and that wouldnt have been possible without this tool. There are no CONS as of yet, but if i think there is some problem or issues I will report it here. But its a highly recommended rotary tool for every household. its bang for the buck.
