Our Harmony Series brushes are made from a mix of goat hair, bristle, and nylon. These have moderate elasticity, and absorb water well. The feel is more supportive than pure goat hair, so it is easy to perform a firm line. These are artist quality brushes, suited for calligraphy, sumi-e, and watercolor-based painting. Great entry-level Sumi brush, I love these. :)
Until I started using these, I didn't realize how bad the ones that come with those little kits are! There's so much more control over the stroke that it's nearly a miracle that I ever got anything half-way decent before I bought them. If you're more experienced than I am, you might get the next level up on Momo Arts brushes, but I'm very happy with these.

Worth Every Penny
I've tried the cheaper, made in China brushes as well as Bill Buchman brushes and this blows them away! Really great control and sharp lines. I've been looking for a good quality brush that's affordable and found it! I am VERY happy.
