Walker and Hawkes - Wax 100% Cotton Canvas Fabric Cloth Soft Finish Waxed Waterproof Cloth - Olive - 1m (100 x 150cm)

Lovely, lovely fabric. Easy to sew and cut, not sticky at all. Bought it to make myself a bag, but I ended up making daughter a sports bag (nothing new there, then). Whatever, it is superb stuff.

This is the perfect waxed cotton. Roughly 290gsm and definitely waxy, though this settles after a week or two. I bought it to create a durable outdoor mat and it was perfect. So perfect I bought 3/4 more metres in various colours. It's worth noting all of the colours are fairly dark - but perfect for outdoor wear as a result. If you're stitching it do consider the weight of your thread and needle type. Walker and Hawkes also do a re-waxing or re-proofing on their website so if you want to keep this material going you can get more from there. All in all a perfect waxed cotton. Highly recommend.

I’ve used this waxed canvas to make bags. It is easy to sew on my domestic machine. It feels quite oily at first, but I haven’t found it a problem. It doesn’t seem to leave any oily residue on my sewing machine. I think it was good value.

I have ordered a couple of times from this seller and the fabric and colour was great and as described. I bought this to make a roll out holder for carving knives and it is perfect. Very good quality

I can't really grumble that its too waxy because after all, it is supposed to be waterproof. For my purposes though - making a large, lined, bucket type shopping bag - it was really too waxy. The finish is very sticky and comes off on your hands (work table, lining fabric etc.). I got round this by ironing quite a lot of the dressing out of the fabric onto newspaper before sewing, which left the fabric much more maneageable and more pleasent to handle. I was happy with the results and think the reduced amount of wax/dressing should be ok next to clothing.

Éste tejido encerado tipo Barbour es maravilloso.Lo he comprado para hacerles unos chubasqueros a mis perros y estoy encantada.Es muy difícil encontrar chubasqueros bonitos para perros fuera de los convencionales con colores tan estridentes y estampados imposibles. Yo buscaba algo sencillo y efectivo y sin lugar a dudas éste tejido encerado es el mejor para prendas de éste tipo. Combinado con un tejido tipo borreguito por dentro les he hecho un chubasquero efectivo y calentito.La variedad de colores es más que suficiente.Lo recomiendo encarecidamente si vives en el norte puesto que es una pieza indispensable.

I bought one meter of this material just to try it out. It has such a velvety feel and drape and was so easy to handle just to hone my sewing skills to hem the edges. I plan to use it on my backyard whiskey/wine kegs to drape over them for a more upscale look for garden party guests to set their drinks or plates on.
