quality for the amount and price was great. works quite well. i used on buffing wheel for making a knife. there may be better stuff out there but the back yard person this was great.

I bought this product to use to sharpen knives via stroppingOn leather. It works wonderfully for this purpose! It is the first stage of sharpening as it is a lower grit. It removes som material but not overly much and starts off the polish and sharpening process. The one pound brick is a lifetime supply if you are planning on using it for knife sharpening. It goes on easily when applied to leather like a crayon, and no heat is needed if you don't wish to use it.Over all a great product for a great price and it will home your blades to beyond razor sharpness when used together with other finer compounds.

Huge brick of polishing compound that will last me for years. I rub it on a leather lined paddle used to strop pocket knives. Works like a charm.

This is a good stropping compound and is made in the USA.This isn't as good as Herb's but Herb's only makes the fine finishing grit compound , the black compounds are more coarse.I've read other reviews that say this has no noticeable grit to it and I completely disagree!This compound works well as the first step of polishing/stropping the edge of a blade and then finish it off with Herb's or the cheaper green compound.

There are several polishing compounds available. I really don't see much difference in quality, so I just go for volume per dollar.
