Had the older 783 models for about 15 years. The motors are wearing out. Where do I get them? Been to Vornado and they don't speak English.

I’ve had no problem reaching Vornado’s Customer Service by telephone, albeit it was a lengthy wait to get through. But once I did, the rep was very helpful and thoroughly explained their 5-Year Warranty process. They open a Warranty Claim, you provide proof of purchase date (easy if bought on Amazon), along with the non-working fan’s Serial/Model # (located on fan itself), they instruct you to cut the fan’s power cord and take pics to send to Vornado. After that’s completed, they ship a new fan to you. My rep spoke fluent English.

Does the fan pivot at the top to blow straight out (horizontally) or directly up towards the ceiling?

Yes, this fan tilts / pivots up and down but it can be stiff plus this feature isn't discussed in the manual or assembly instructions. At first, ours seemed stuck in a downward facing direction but ultimately it tilted up completely toward the ceiling and partially down toward the floor. It just required a firmer grip and more force than expected. Ultimately this is a good thing because the fan holds its position well. Still, this could be a challenge with grip or arthritis challenges. Placing one hand on the back of the fan and one on the front worked best.

What is the lowest and highest height that the fan can be adjusted to?

The height of the 783DC fan is 38” when the fan head is horizontal. Or you can take out the extension pole which is about 2’ long.
