Lew's LFS MP Tournament Reel
It's a very nice reel and Lew's makes some nice reels . I don't know how this reel compares with the high end Lew's reels that sell for over $400 but for $160 the LFS MP reel seems to be a high quality reel . I ordered the RH 5:6-1 Gear ratio to use on my deep crankbait rod but the seller sent me a RH 6:8-1 Gear Ratio reel . Instead of returning the reel I am going to keep it and use it for techniques other than deep cranking . I don't know if Lew's has discontinued this particular model but the LFS MP reels in 5:6-1 Gear Ratio are very difficult to find

Last baitcaster I buy
My 2nd baitcaster, finally got a left hand and may I say this might be the last one I buy. Very smooth, casts great. I have suffex 832 20lb braid and its amazing, doesn't backlash to terrible if you have your setting slightly loose. Great for the price. Super light. Its on a 7ft mh ugly stik elite

Super smooth and great feel!
This is my first baitcaster, so I don't have really anything to compare it to. In the beginning I got a lot of backlash but I was learning how to use the reel. I owned it for about 7 months now, and unless I need to for light or lures, I'll never go back to spinners because of this real. It's super smooth and feels great. once you learn to meeter with your thumb, you don't have to worry about backlash. I keep the mag brakes at about a 7 and the spool tension very low, just enough to keep the spool from moving side to side.

Look no further, this is the reel!
This reel is absolutely amazing. First Lew’s for me, and I will now be brand loyal forever. Once you dial this bad boy in, I can sling my preferred 1/2 oz baits at full force and only use my thumb to stop the spool. I have 2/4 of the internal brakes turned on (comes from factory this way, I tried other setups and switched back) and the external brakes I keep at a low 2. If you’re getting into baitcasting, don’t go for budget and be forever turned away from them. Pic is a 5.5lb I caught first time using it.

Good real on a budget
It’s a good durable reel I have a few of these with different gear ratios and they do the job Like everything else these days made over seas and over priced

Wow, blow away
I've only thrown this baitcaster for a day. I didn't really want to spend the money on expensive reels. I thought I'd just have a lot of cheap reels. I picked up another budget reel with great reviews at the same times as this one just to see if it was worth the price tag when quickly comparing them as well as compared to my other $60-80 reels. I am seriously blown away. This is by far my favorite reel and I'll be sending the budget reel back and biting the bullet and getting another of these Lew's Tournament MPs and probably a Pro when I can afford it. I never thought I'd be a guy who really cared how a reel felt in my hand, just how it performed, but this reel feels great. I love the matte finish as well as how smooth and quiet it is. It fits well in my medium sized hands. I feel spoiled now. It feels super durable and it is so easy to dial in and use quickly. I can launch this sucker, no problems. Don't hesitate if you can afford it. I can't speak to other Lew's products but I'm definitely a fan of this reel in comparison to the 5 or 6 I've tried in the 50-$200 range. I’ve already ordered a second one. Will update after some use.

I’m loving ir
For my second Lew’s bait casting real, this was a good choice. Pretty green to the baitcasting concept. I still get the occasional bird nest, but they aren’t all that big and usually come out fairly easy. Seems smooth to me, and casts pretty well, IMO. Highly recommend

My favorite baitcast reel!
I've owned both Abu Garcia and Lew's reels for several years, but the Lew's MP by far is my new favorite in the price range it is targeted at. I found it to be very comparable to my Tournament Pro models, which sell for $50-70 more. With the LFS style of design and features, it is better than a lot of the higher priced models from other manufacturers. The Multi-Setting Brake (MSB) is easy to tune based on technique and weight of the lure I'm throwing. Spool tension adjustments are consistent, and I like the audible click on hte tension knob. The reel, overall, is very smooth and comfortable to use. I'll be adding more to my arsenal.

I really love this reel. I got the 8:3:1 gear ratio and it’s perfect. Backlashes are minimum. If you’re brand new to casters you will get backlashes regardless of model and brand it’s a learning process for you new folks. Brakes are nice and smooth and the 20lb drag is mint. I run 30lb braid on a MH for anything over 3/8oz lures. 3/8oz and under I run 15-20lb braid and a Medium/fast. Keeps backlashes next to a bare minimum for me.

I'm not very happy. Although the reel seems to be ok, it wasn't seated in the box like a new Lew's reel with the protective cardboard flap, and there is no paper/instructions. Looks like they sent me a demo or a return. This is supposed to be a gift. Now it will look like I'm giving a second hand gift. Not happy at all.

Was great at first, but downhill from there. 3 bearings failed including the anti reverse roller bearing. The numbers on the external brake dial wore off the first week of use. I contacted Lew’s twice, but they never responded.
