Giro Bishop MIPS Adult Recreational Cycling Helmet

I found this one in a local store. I was trying a few on and this one fit the best. It didn't hurt that it had this fancy MIPS technology, reducing rotational injuries and stuff like that. Sounds good. I purchased it on amazon for quite a bit cheaper. The only gripe I have is that the straps for the under-chin clasp are a bit on the short side. If my head were just a little more enormous, they wouldn't claps. It's snug but comfortable as it is. Be careful if you have a melon-head.

I have a giant head, my husband thinks it's hilarious that my head is so much larger than his. I can never find hats or helmets that fit me. Never. The last bicycle helmet I bought was ridiculous on me, but I wanted to set a good example for my kids, so I wore it; despite how uncomfortable it was. Recently, however, I decided to take up cycling as a form of exercise, which meant finding a helmet that would actually protect my head in the event of an accident. I looked up best helmets for large heads and was led to this helmet (there were others, but since I had no desire to spend hundreds of dollars on one, this was the best option for me.) Based on other reviews I had a ton of fears about the comfort and size of the helmet. Fortunately, they were all unfounded. This helmet fit wonderfully and was so easy to adjust to fit me perfectly; as far as the comfort of the helmet it felt just like wearing any other head gear. If you hate wearing hats, yes, it may be less than comfortable, but I didn't even notice it was on after a little while.

The packaging says it fits up to size 65 cm head. But it was too small for my 60 cm headed even after adjusting the back knob to maximum size. I had measured my head per the Giro sizing instructions. The sides of my head didn't fit. So returned for a full refund. Too bad as I have a Giro Atlas helmet that fits great and am looking to upgrade to a MIPS helmet. The search CONTINUES.

On 09/22/2018, I took a nasty tumble at Lakeshore Park in MI. I was admitted to a level 2 trauma center, but was discharged later that day. My bumps and bruises looked fierce and all the medical professionals were initially worried about the damage my brain had sustained. I definitely had a concussion, but not one to the scale of the rest of my injuries. Today is 09/26/2018 and I have been feeling back to normal since 09/24. This helmet helped mitigate what could have been a life-altering injury, and for that I am thankful.Please, wear your helmet. This one probably saved my life.

Great accessory

I LOVE this helmet. My old Bell fit me like a yamulka, this covers my big head properly. I HIGHLY recommend this helmet if you have a larger head. It's also very comfortable, and quite cool. I'm very pleased with my purchase. You can't beat the price either.

Man has put people on the moon and has explored vast depths of many seas. We can even make electrical circuits only atoms wide. But we have yet figured out how to make a bicycle helmet that is both safe and comfortable.Sad to say this is no execption. The straps on this helmet is by far the worst sin. No matter the dialing it will never fit right. Ear and strap angles are sharp the helmet will choke you. Adjusted not to choke and it would slip off if you crashed.The only way i got it to almost fit right was to throw away the ear under ear clamps...

Have not yet taken this out on a ride, but it seems to fit quite well--my head could even be marginally bigger and it would still fit. I have a very large head (8-1/4+ hat size).
