This is a great book if you are new to metal detecting. It gives you an explaination for what the detector does and how it works. Its worth the money

Brandon is an amazing resource and has a massive amount of knowledge! He doesn't hesitate to help you out. This book is simple and straight forward, to the point. I have followed him on his YouTube channel for a few years now. He is a very genuine person. I would recommend this book to anyone that has any interest at all in Metal Detecting! I look forward to more from him.

I found Brandon Neice on YouTube as I was thinking about Metal Detecting. He seemed to really know his stuff. Since I wanted to get into the hobby but didn't know anything about it, or about how to shop for a metal detector. After reading chapter one, I learned what I wanted, and how to find it in the market place. I learned the difference between the metal detectors that I had as a kid, and what the professionals are using. I used this information, and shopped for a metal detector for a few weeks, and stumbled onto a massively good deal today on a top of the line beginner's metal detector (Garrett ACE 400). Some have said that this is all I will ever need, but they make nicer (more expensive) models for a reason. I'm pretty satisfied with this book, and look forward to studying it more.

I haven't even read the whole book but I already know, or at least, certainly believe, Brandon Niece has his ducks in a line. I kind of already suspected that because he was already discussed along with some of his strategies in Andy Sabisch's book about the Minelab CTX3030. I don't think Andy's going to just let any old "swinger" be a part of any of his books. I love how he goes in to detail about things like ground balancing, and noise cancel. These are such important aspects of a metal detector. I feel that he's a good, straight forward, concise but interesting author. Keep up the good work Brandon!

I have acquired two books focused on the subject of metal detecting, this is one. Like another reviewer said- it's not a bible, but it's pretty darned good. The second edition is from 2023, the most recent and current on the subject that I could find. The other book I bought, Metal Detecting, also available from Amazon, is from 2016, which is this book's first edition's date. Both are good books, some content varies, some very similar, but my takeaway is a reinforcement of essentials, with refinements in both, The Metal Detecting Bible is more valuable from a timeline perspective of information. I had the Minelab Vanquish 540 recommended to me, and NOW it's my machine. A far newer system than an old Garrett I used for work many years ago, so I felt like I needed some educational assistance to catch up with my new hobby.

Books is invaluable for the beginner. I'm quite experienced and found a few nuggets in it but overall it is meant more for the person who is new to the hobby. Book would be a 5-star for them.

I enjoyed the book and it gave me a lot of ideas of ways to make money, get some exercise, clean up the environment, learn some history, pass on good habits to the next generation.
