Built for bow hunters
Wow $158!!!! Cabelas and Optics Planet want $275!!! Too good to be true!!!First off a few reviewers are stuck on ranging deer... most hunters have a stand. You have bait, decoys, and good plots..etc. you pre range all of it.( most will have at least one of those not all) Trees shooting lanes. By the time a deer comes you know every distance. Dont wait to range til a deer comes. By then you should be more worried about your bow. When ranging a deer itself knowing what part to get a good reading off helps. Still I find little need to range deer. A long range rifle model yes as they may be in open fields where nothing else is to read off of. This model is for archery: it is hard just to find one that has 4x optics and not 6x. 6x is too much for 20yards! Also this offers a lot of great features that will help archers. This is not a rangefinder you want to buy for long range hunting. Also!! A long range rangefinder is not one I would even ever use for bow hunting. Look at all the other options this one has some of the highest reviews out there. The 4x optics makes it ideal for bow. Add in the clear shot feature and all the others. Great deal!

AWESOME AND EASY TO USE
Perfect range finder for the hunter. I have used it for deer and turkey so I knew where my shot zones where. No guessing and helped me wait a bit longer to take my shot. In the past I would shoot and be in the effective kill range. I am looking forward to Blackpowder season next year so I can play with a further range shot.

works well beyond 7 yards
I got this rangefinder for reasons one may have not. First yes i know its for hunting and blah blah blah. I am really lazy and i aint trying to have to do more work then i need to. So when i need something and i have to get up to get it i first determine weather or not its worth it. And to do that i need to factor in range to my equation. So far ive gottn up to pull the coffee table closer to the couch and reach to the floor to grab the remote that fell off the couch. So far its worked great for the last year and a half. I do wish that it would range within 7 yards thow. Thats probably why i decide most things arnt worth it... i just cant get the range within 7 yards

Hold on bow hunters
Perfect its on point every time on ranging. I tried the bow mode but didn't work. After using it more I noticed that the battery indicator does not show like it suppose to. I followed the instructions for switching to bow mode, which is pretty simple, but I had no success. I am sending it back for another to see if its just this rangefinder. I will update.6/26/14I just recieved the replacement bushnell clear shot. I tried the new one out for the bow mode. Either the manual is incorrect or the device is not working as instructed in the manual.Instructions for switching to bow mode:"Bow Mode ( ): Displays line of sight distance, degree of elevation, and true distancerange from 7-199 yards / meters and a maximum inclination of +/- 90°.Once the range is displayed, continue to hold the POWER button down forapproximately 2 seconds while holding the aiming circle on the object and keeping theunit as steady as possible so as to allow the inclinometer enough time to measure angle. Then release the POWER button. Once you have released the power button, a degree ofangle and compensated range will be displayed beneath the line of sight distance as seenin the images below."The image that they show in the manual, page 6, is a drawing of a circle representlng the site as it is looked through, in the circle there are symbols of a bow on the top right, a battery indicator on the left side, The range displayed in large numbers in the center then below the range there are smaller numbers, to the left is the degree of angle then an arrow pointing to the right at the angle range compensation "ARC". The arrow symbol means "shoot at".Instructions continued:"When line of sight distances from 7-199 yards are displayed, the Bow mode indicator will automatically be displayedalong with angle and a compensated distance. If distances greater than 199 yards are displayed, the Bow modeIndicator will automatically turn off along with compensated distances."I have been ranging between 7 to 40 yards at an max angle of 30deg and I still do not get the symbols that is shown in the manual. The bow symbol and battery indicator do not show up. What I do see is the ARC is below the large range number. The degree and ARC are changing back and forth meaning it will show the Deg then change to the ARC but not the display that is shown in the image in the manual. This is the second bushnel and I compared both. I am ok with it does the clear shot fine enough even though i have not field tested it. The ARC is my concern not sure how acurate it is since I was only 8 yards away and there is only 1 deg in compensation at a 30deg angle putting the shot at 7deg, I am going to assume that at greater distances the compesation will be more. I'll have to test it some more.I am keeping it at three stars until bushnell gets back to me expalining what is going on with there clearshot product not working as it should be maybe its something simple. I did contact Tech support but I got a vague response in the email. I called and they informed me to have it relaced which I did.If anyone knows of this problem please get back to me.I

Small, compact, accurate! State of the art!
Awesome unit! I used to use one short range unit for bow hunting, and then a long range unit for rifle season, but this one consolidates everything into one compact unit! Plus, this Bushnell takes into account the angle of your shot, like shooting down a steep hill or from a tree stand. Last year I missed a doe because I was shooting down a steep hill AND from a high tree stand. That doe won't get away this year, not with this new rangefinder!

Only deer I've missed, I didn't range
I've been on two hunts with my new crossbow and have killed 5 deer, and each and every one was ranged at least twice before I shot with my crossbow. The targets have been anywhere from 27 to 50 yards and every one was killed with one shot. Yes, my crossbow is dead on out to 90 yards, but I restrict myself to 50 yards. The only one I've missed this season, my first with a crossbow, was one I ranged and then he moved; rather than range him again I estimated his range and shot over his back! The deer in the picture was shot at 50 yards and yes, I ranged him three times before shooting.I haven't set up the Clear Shot function yet as I hunt out of a blinds with shot lanes that I've already cleared of obstructions. However, I have passed up a couple of shots while moving to and from the blinds that I wasn't sure wouldn't hit overhanging branches. So, after the season is over I'll be calibrating the clear shot function. My only difficulty with this range finder is finding the button to range an object as the top surface feels the same no matter where I move my finger (I wear thin gloves while hunting). If the button was raised a bit more it would make ranging without looking to find the button much easier. I don't like moving my focus from the deer to find the button. Otherwise I have no complaints after one season.
