I have gently emptied the bag (of live & dead beetles) at a rate of every several days, rinsed & re-hung it (not in the instructions though) with loads of continued success through rain, wind & sun. Live beetles trapped—I emptied by placing the mouth of the bag over a jar of water that has a few drops of dish soap—this breaks the surface tension. And how long does it take for the beetles to find the trap?** A: The Japanese Beetles usually find the trap very quickly. The yellow vanes assemble into an X-shape. The bag is attached to the yellow vanes. The lure also attaches to the vanes. Very simple construction. The instructions are clear. Rubber Nozzle--I haven't a clue as to what you are talking about. **Q: When I removed the foil cover from the lure, the plastic over the felt discs came with it. Were they supposed to remain behind the plastic shield?** A: Only the foil should come off. The felt discs should remain attached inside the plastic "dish." Then, the edges of the plastic "dish" fit into the matching grooves on the large yellow hanger. The felt should face inward. The Beetles, by the way, never end up on the felt lure because they are such lousy flyers. They fall down the yellow flutes and then into the green bag.
