Little did I expect this - but wow!!!
Let's face it, when in the market for RCA cable switchers, one usually finds a variety of cheaper made models and it's not unusual to see the same model being marketed under different brands. This is often par for the course with these inexpensive Chinese branded models. In my case, I have 6 different DAC's that I use with my desktop PC, attached to a variety of speakers. Yes, I do online reviews and provide comments regarding performance characteristics of different pieces of equipment. So last week I began to look for a good 4-unit RCA Audio cable switcher. And mannnn, there were tons of them on Amazon - most were very cheap in price, while a few ranged between $100 and $200 USD. I was eventually eyeing one that cost close to $200, when I happened upon this GOHIFIAUDIO S1 switcher. I thought, "Hmnnnn, they want $70 USD for this thing (at the time of this writing - they've gone up since then)?" I was hesitant at first, mainly because it had no reviews, and also the thought (assumption) that any type of cable switcher will result in signal loss - especially with passive models (of which this model S1 is one). But being the guinea pig that I tend to be, I pulled the trigger and purchased it. When it arrived, I noticed that the box seemed heavy (a bit more than I expected). When I opened the box, I was dumbfounded (in a very, very good way) to see a solid brick of a switcher. Beautifully machined and exceptionally solid (thus the weight of the unit), you could see that this was not going to be no ordinary every-day switcher. The RCA inputs on the back were meticulously designed and constructed and durable and you knew right away that you were dealing with a higher end device. But how would it sound? I immediately connected several DAC's to this unit. By the way, for those not familiar with the term "DAC," it's short for Digital to Analog Converter which can make a world of difference with sound quality on the likes of a PC or a video system. When I selected switch #1 - which happened to have the iFI Zen DAC unit, I could not believe my ears. No signal loss or alteration at all - what you listened to is what you got. And the switching back and forth (between 4 units) is so smooth and high-end, that it will put a smile on your face. And no worrying about using the right power supply as this is a very basic passive unit, that was exceptionally crafted/machined. The moment you handle (pick up) and use this Model S1, you'll be hooked and then wonder why you haven't seen this thing before. So right now I have the following DAC's attached to this GOHIFIAUDIO S1 - those being the iFI Zen DAC, the Schliit Modi 3, the Micca OriGen2, the FX Audio DAC X6, and the Sabaj D3. Switching between them to do a budget DAC audio evaluation was effortless. Another question that folks often have with regards to the possibility of using an RCA audio switcher, is will thick cables (and bending them to connect to other units) result in the switcher being lifted up, or turned in a particular direction. This happens big time with thicker, less pliable cables. I can tell you that in my case, I have each DAC connected to the S1 switcher with a shorter 1 foot RCA cable and the only result was that the smaller DAC's had to be turned somewhat - but the S1 switcher was solid and stayed put! So folks, I'm just one reviewer, but my listening standards are high. I'm gratified to have found this particular Switcher on Amazon. This comes highly recommended! Caveat here - remember, reviews are subjective and all I can do being an audiophile is to call 'em as I see 'em. YMMV..... EDIT - Add-on comments as of 6-29-2020: I just wanted to add on here that I purchased a 2nd switcher due to the fact that the first one was so awesome. I have additional components (i.e. DAC's) that I needed to bring into my system, so I got another one. I'm telling you, this passive model is built quite well and just plain works - without any signal loss or alterations!!!! Since I purchased the first GOHIFIAUDIO S1, I also tried another switcher that was not passive - it had to use a power supply. It was a Chinese made product also, but it failed after two weeks (the right channel stopped working on the 2nd set of RCA inputs). So I had to return that one. That made me realize that you stick with what works best, and that's why I purchased another GOHIFIAUDO S1. The GOHIFIAUDIO S1 sets the standard in my book. And yes, I know it went up in price - like some $20 more - but hey, it is most certainly worth it as you get what you pay for.

Surprising quality for the price.
You could certainly build a simple RCA switch-box yourself, but after opening this thing up I don't think you could build one yourself as good for the same money. Nice quality switch and nice tight fitting RCA connectors well soldered to a PC board stuffed in to a well made metal project box. I have one preamp and one pair of speakers. I switch between two power amps. I've been using the SOLUPEAK speaker switcher for close to a year and it's been faultless. For the inputs, I was just using a pair of RCA "Y" connectors. Decided it was time to ditch the "Y" connectors and add a switch for the signal inputs as well. SOLUPEAK again had what I was looking for. Silent switching and zero detectable signal degradation. I make my own shielded interconnects out of Mogami 2549. With the shield connected only on the source side, I have no issues with ground loops. I only mention this because in the description for this item it mentions possibly needing a ground loop isolator. With a properly thought out cabling and grounding scheme, you'll never need one of those items. Anyway, this little box is well worth the price and works perfectly.

Nice, & what was needed
Used the SOLUPEAK U31 for a short time while awaiting Delivery of some Audio equipment I had out being modified. Build Quality was Quite nice, far better than other switch-boxes I've owned before. In use, it was audibly invisible, having neither additive nor diminishing sound quality. ~{exactly what was desired). Though not needed or being use curently, I will keep it handy for possible future use.

Seems like a quality product with one problem.
The switch seems to be of good quality. I like it and the sound is good but the rca jacks are too small and most of my cables fit loosely and are intermittent. I think I found a fix by using a twisty tie around the left and right cable ends so they are secure and not loose. I didn't notice any bleed through from other channels. Seems like a quality product but they missed the mark with the rca connectors.

Works great.
No issues with rca's being too loose like some have complained about. I bought this so I can have two sets of speakers connected to two separate power amps and one preamp. For this, it works great.

Loose knobs, rattling interior because of poor design - avoid this
Front knobs loose and rattle. Avoid frustration and don't bother buying this. I rarely write reviews and when I do it's because some piece of garbage product has caused me serious problems. This thing is one of those that inspires a negative review. Very poorly designed, all components on circuit board in back, the front knobs are connected to the back using long extensions and the interior is basically empty. There is nothing securing or holding these extension rods protruding thru holes in front plate, so they sit in there loosely and rattle. How do I know this? Well Amazon sends me a unit someone else returned the first time. Notice I said "first". Paid for a new switcher, got one that had obviously been shipped and returned. Knobs felt loose and the switcher box rattled. Sent it back and requested a replacement. Most likely if you buy this you are going to probably get that one, the way Amazon just sends returns back out and the mfg probably rubber stamped it. Second one arrives 2 days later, exact same freaking thing. Oh and by the way the second one they sent me was a used freaking return too. My shipping sticker was just slapped on over TWO OTHER PEOPLE'S SHIPPING STICKERS!!! So this one got returned twice and then sent to me as "new". This time I figured I would just look inside and see if I could tighten whatever was loose and rattling because I didnt want to go thru the hassle of driving 20 mins to return it AGAIN. Well, nope, no way to fix it, it was designed so badly there is nothing supporting the extension rods coming from the back out the front. Screw this piece of garbage, also this company Soulpeak, watch out for anything they sell if this is how they do business. Oh and I feel sorry for whoever is going to get this second one I sent back, because it arrived in worse shape and it's almost certain they will slap an inspection sticker on it and send it out to another poor unwitting sucker. Really crappy, really cheap design for $54.

Great Switch Box for the price!
Works well so far! I wanted to switch between 3 different outputs from my DAC at a reasonable price-to-quality ratio, and I have been pretty pleased with this Switch Box. The sound quality has been good with no noticeable sound degradation with any of the three outputs. The build quality seems quite nice and robust all around. The RCA ports feel solid as well. Lastly, the dial to switch also has a nice feel and weight to it. Really happy with this so far.

Functional, solid build, no hum, but input select knob not aligned properly.
The product is functional, solid, and no issue with hum in my use case which is a DAC input, a headphone amp output and a speaker amp output. However, the input select knob does not align with the input numbering on the front panel. This affects the perceived quality of the unit. I would return the unit for this issue if I thought the replacement would have better alignment.
