Great little book packed with info!
What a great little book! I wasn't sure what to expect when I got this book but although it is small in stature it is far from small in content! I can't believe how much info fit into this little book and talk about easy to read and informative.. I love this as a gift idea with a bottle of wine or two and an awesome opener! I would recommend this in a heartbeat. The joke in our family is that dad thinks he is an expert wine taster (um he is not - far from it) he will be educated himself soon when I hand him this book to read. It discusses how grapes are processed and how they are picked- it is so interesting. This book is for the novice to learn about wine, brief history of wine, wine making, and grapes. Also where they are produced, and the different types. There is also information on how to taste wine to get the full effect and best experience which if you haven't gone for a wine tasting yet- this is very important. One of the most handy sections to me was having an explanation on wine storage and temperatures. And if you are lucky enough to have left overs- you'll get some ideas for that as well. OR look me up and message me I'll shoot you some recipes!Disclaimer: I received this product for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

... known much about wine and just drank whatever sounded good at the time and only knew about white and ...
I've never known much about wine and just drank whatever sounded good at the time and only knew about white and red wine, so this book was definitely an eye opener for me and I learned so much! I like how it talks about there being 5 categories of wine and so didn't know champagne was going to be one of them. I liked reading the history of how wine started and how long it's been around. The different quotes about wine were awesome to read also. I really enjoyed the facts about wine also and how it breaks down the time frame to make the wine. Reading about the world's most popular blends and how much is consumed by country was really interesting. I didn't think the US drank as much as we do, I thought European countries would have been way higher but US consumes the most. I'm definitely going to keep this book on standby the next time I buy a wine, I'll know which one to get to pair with my food better instead of sticking with white zinfandel.I received this product for free in return for my honest review. All opinions are my own and no compensation was received.

Great beginner's guide to drinking and understanding wine
Wine: A No-Snob Guide: Drink Outside the Box written by Lori Stevens is a great guide to new wine drinkers, like myself. I was personally never a big wine drinker, but as I read Lori Steven's guide I got a great understanding as to why I possibly was not enjoying wine to its full capacity. Not only did I learn about the production of wine and its history but I also learned of ways to enjoy wine. "SEE, SWIRL, SMELL, SIP, SWALLOW" are some of the words Lori Stevens uses to describe the difference between tasting wine versus drinking wine. With the help of this book as will be more willing to try and explore different wines and their flavors and be able to distinguish the quality. Absolutely a great read, and perfect if you love wine or are interested in learning how to properly enjoy wine! I received this product for free in exchange of an honest and unbiased review.

I really enjoyed reading this book
I received a complimentary copy of this book for our review. All opinions are our own.I really enjoyed reading this book. I enjoy a glass of wine occasionally but I know I am no where even close to knowing much about the variances of wines, how to properly aerate a bottle or glass of wine. This is one of those books that is great for the wine novice! I never knew there was a different between tasting and drinking wine. I knew there were different types of grapes and categories for the wine, however, I realized I pronounce "rose" wine wrong! As someone who hosts a lot of parties, I really appreciated the tasting and food pairing tips! This really is a must have gift! This would be great as a stocking stuffer or even as a wedding gift.

regions - and it's pretty fun to read
This is essentially a primer on wine - the basic process, types, tasting, regions - and it's pretty fun to read. If you have any real wine experience, a lot of this isn't new, but the book provides a nice basis for new wine drinkers or those who don't know much beyond red vs. white. The book is nicely planned and the reading is quick and easy. It provides some nice illustrations on regions, types of glasses, tasting and there is some great information on types of wines, food pairings, storing wine, etc... I think that along with a favorite bottle and a pair of nice glasses, this book would make a great gift.Item received in exchange for an honest review. Opinions are entirely my own.

easy to understand book on wine!
Well this really taught me a lot about wine. I really have not tried that many wines because the couple I have tasted I did not like. Of course I had no idea how one should taste wine. Now I will probably be planning a trip to one of the local wineries tasting rooms, and try a few wines that I think I would like from the book. I also never knew it was important what glasses to use with the different wines. I think I will be reading at least parts of this book again, and will keep it as a great reference as I become more familiar with different wines.I was sent a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I was not paid for my review and all opinions are my own.

Easy to read and informative
I like this book as I believe it would be nice for the novice or experienced wine lover. I like that it is only 92 pages but covers a lot of information because I love wine but I don't want to read a 500 page book about it. I think this book would be very helpful to someone that is planning to do wine tastings when I went to my first wine tasting I was lost and a book like this I would have felt more relaxed and would have enjoyed myself more because I would have had more knowledge about wine. I am glad the book doesn't focus on just saying expensive wines are best but really is about sharing knowledge and helping you find the best one your palate would enjoy. I received this free for my honest review and unbiased opinion. The opinions stated are my own.
