Well worth the money!
I love this knife! I have been looking for a good, solid, sharp knife for my kitchen and this is it. Forget the cheap, stamped steel knives which are too thin and spindly for my taste. This knife feels great in your hand, is well balanced, and has a nice distance from the heel to the bolster so that I don't mash my fingers on the counter as I'm chopping. The knife came super sharp so getting dinner ready was a breeze. Finally, it looks snazzy on my magnetic bar. Long story short, I completely love it and I'm already eyeing others in the line to round out the set.

Great Value
Very sharp, lightweight, yet good balance. Perfect for the smaller chopping jobs, such as scallions, asparagus, etc. would buy again.

Well made forged blade, super sharp
Other than the packaging which leaves little to be desired, this product very good. The first thing I noticed was how light the knife is. The blade is thin so passing through vegetables is easy! i diced a big onion with ease.I am happy with my purchase. The fit is fine, and looks sexy. I will keep buying Mercer knives, and knife covers.the handle fits my hand very well.

Worthy
This knife has been my daily driver for almost 3 years. Honed with a ceramic rod every few days, hand washed, stored on a magnetic strip, and only used with soft cutting boards such as wood or plastic. This knife has never been sharpened and is holding it's edge. I'd prefer a little more relief on the handle for my man-hands, but it's very usable as is. Pleased to use it every day.

Best value around
TLDR: If you know how to sharpen and maintain your knife, this line from Mercer is one of the best value around.I have a couple decades of experience cooking professionally, from prep cook all the way to executive chef position at various establishments. My knife collection ranges from inexpensive flea market finds to top tier commercial brands to custom handmade knives. This line of knives from Mercer is easily the best value around if you know how to put a convex edge and know how to maintain through regular stropping and honing. The steel strikes a great balance between edge retention, ease of sharpening/maintenance, and durability. If the steel has really high strength, it will hold an edge longer but is more prone to chipping and can be more difficult to sharpen. If it’s too soft, it is very easy to sharpen and get a razor edge, but will require frequent resharpening. This knife occupies that sweet spot of being easy enough to sharpen and maintain while being tough enough to hold an edge for a reasonable amount of use/time before maintenance is needed.

Nice home chef 6" knife
Blade is a bit thinner than I'm used to and the factory edge was kinda blah but after running it over my 400 & 1200 whetstone it is quite sharp. If this holds an edge I will be happy.
