10+ stars if it were possible - VERY durable and cheap!!
I bought this setup maybe a year ago as I thought it was very cool, since then I have joined the ranks of satellite field technicians in the last few months. Instead of buying the 300.00+ Dewalt and/or Makita sets, I stuck with the B&D. I'm VERY impressed, and will be replacing parts as they go out (if/when they do). I use the setup on a daily basis drilling 1/2" holes through mortar (drill attachment) and using the impact for everything from screwing in 1/2" lag bolts and 1/4" cable clips. The drill has also been used to mix concrete, while the drill attachments snapped off a few times it didn't break anything. She's been dropped from 10-20' high on a ladder and still works great. Compared to the more expensive Makita and Dewalt brands, the B&D can be charged with a simple 20$ AC-DC inverter, it weighs 1/2(1/3?) as much, and you can carry multiple "drills" at once considering the parts are interchangeable. I have a simple AC-DC inverter in the van, that keeps the extra battery charged at all times, using the "wall wart" charger, not the advanced "speed" charger. The attached photo is of the current condition and 3+ months in the field, and she is still going VERY strong like it's brand new.. Although now that I say that, something will go wrong :-P

Black and Decker Matrix 20V
This tool is hands down the most versatile and useful tool I or anyone else with ever own and use. There is an attachment for every type of job a person could need this for with plenty of battery power and life. First the build quality is amazing and is able to fully shake the misconceived notion that Black and Decker is a cheap throw-away brand tool. The entire black parts of the body are a matte rubber and give you grip at any angle you hold it at. The ergonomics work with all the attatchments even though you might think they won't, but they do. Such as the jigsaw and every other attachmen; it is able to give you more control and with the variable speed trigger the precision that is called for on more delicate work. The battery lasts for about 180 or so 1" screws driven into untreated 2x4 or cutting 4 5'x5' pieces of plywood every which way imaginable, which isn't bad by a long shot. During all this the drill becomes slightly warm, but never burning up. The battery charging would be the only negative with it taking around 3 hours to fully charge, but that is not a deal-breaker with all these positives. It has lasted me through a whole year of mederate use from porches, to ramps, to cars, and many other around the house jobs. Overall this is the opportunity of a lifetime to have every tool you could need in one compact package at anytime the occasion calls.

Great drill with many attachments that also work great. Battery lasts a very long time
UPDATE - 10 years later and this drill is still the only household drill I have ever needed. Only time I needed something else was when I had to do a big job drilling through concrete. I've used this for so many things and its still going..on the original battery also. I bought attachments for shearing and one for cutting things. The add-ons worked well but I probably wouldnt buy any other addons. The 2 drill set is all I need. The only CON right now is that this drill is selling for $129.99 and I got mine for 69.99! This is still one of the best amazon buys for me - Heinz Kissivelvet This is one of my best purchases for everything household. I havent built a outside shed or any large project like that but this drill has worked for everything else in my house so far. Saves lots of time and the battery has never died on me. I can go a long while w/out recharging when using the drill. Later on I went ahead and bought other accessories like the two saws, the sander, and the hedge trimmers. They ALL work great. One note on the circular saw attachment is you have to tighten it more than it already is for top performance. Tighten it as much as you can. If its even a tiny bit lose the blade will not cut well and its a huge safety hazard anyway.

Awesome piece of kit
My 10 year old Porter Cable driver, impact, and flashlight finally kicked the bucket and I was looking for a new solution. The only other driver in my kit was the Black+Decker "autosense" drill which I surprisingly came to love and highly recommend. On top of that I had a Black+Decker vacuum and flashlight that used the 20v battery. After considering the more costly brands, I came upon this matrix solution and was intrigued. I picked up the drill and impact combo for $100 on amazon and found an old craftsman hammer drill attachment in a bargain bin in a sears closeout. Now, for $130, I have a pretty decent hammer drill and impact driver that use my other 20v batteries. Looking forward to picking up some of the other attachments to round out the workshop. They seem to hold up too. I recently built a couple of walls (from framing through drywall) with the thing with zero hiccups. Good battery life, plenty of power. Only wish the handle had a battery meter like the autosense drill. I really hope Black + Decker keeps this solution around and continues to upgrade it, nothing else really like it on the market considering price/features/expandability.

Perfect for home DIY projects, especially if you don’t have room or budget or desire to own all the separate items with redundant batteries. I also appreciate the eco-friendly aspect of this. Less waste and the battery can be used across many of Black+Decker’s tools.

Missing pieces. No impact driver attachment. Obviously was a returned item as nothing was in separate packages. Battery also dead.
