Better than I expected
So I thought this was going to feel really cheap before I got it, I was wrong, it's far more rigid and sturdy that I expected, the mounts are all very secure and the multiple mounting locations are super nice, though I'll mainly use the same one having other options is always good. This fit perfectly with my D800 and my Yongnuo YN622 wireless trigger on top, it also for with my battery grip but I would have to remove my wireless trigger so I'll just use this without my battery grip because I'm not going to get the hotshoe cord, I'll stick to my wireless. The cold shoe mount felt really sturdy as well when I put my Speedlite in, I don't feel like I'd have to worry about it falling off a song as I secured it really well. The only thing that I think will be an issue on this is the foam grip, super cheap foam and I'm sure it will wear and rip soon after a good shoot, but that's not a big deal because I'm sure I can DIY a sweet soft grip on it after anyway, no biggie.Great product, great price, very happy

great investment for anyone looking to improve upon their flash photography
I bought this on Dec. 22 and I picked 2 day shipping (since i'm a Prime member) and I was worried that it wouldn't get to my house on time for my family's Christmas Eve party, but it got there that morning about 2 hours beforehand. There is no assembly required to put it together, but it took me a few minutes to get everything set up on it properly.... it works great right out the package, feels solid, and it definitely makes flash photography more efficient and consistent, which is what i was looking for in a flash bracket.EDIT to add -- I used it with my Canon 6D camera body and a Canon Speedlite 430EXII external flashKudos to Amazon for their fast shipping, and Vello for making a quality flash bracket for those on a budget!

Smelly-handled Flash Bracket makes taking video easier.
Great product...for the most part.First, the good. It works with my camera(on the bottom) and shotgun mic(on the top). The thumb screw on the bottom is large and easy to tighten. The clamp on the top works too, though my mic did pop out when I put it in. But it stayed the second time I tried to connect it.The only downside to this product is the material that makes the handle cover makes your hand smell like a weird chemical, and it's not a faint smell either. I've had it for 10 days and the smell is still going strong. If you can get over the smell(I am still getting used to it) then this is a great product that works as intended.

Excellent Value, Sturdy Construction
I looked at the Canon flash bracket first, then found this one at about 1/20th the price. Yes, that is correct: 1/20th the Canon-branded price!!! This bracket is very well constructed, adjustable, with a nice finish on the metal. I haven't had any problems with the bracket swiveling on the bottom of the camera body, which is totally annoying of course. With the ability of the flash holder to pivot 90 degrees, the bracket is totally effective at getting rid of red eye and those stark & nasty flash-on-camera shadows.Note the bracket doesn't have a hot shoe connector. I added a "smart" cord to connect my Canon EX430-II flash to the hot shoe on the camera (get the 1.5' length if you don't intend to hold the flash by hand at any point) and I was set.

Good Value for the Price, But a Little Light-Weight for Big Rigs
This works for its intended purpose, and is a cost effective solution if you need a flash bracket. I find the padding on the handle to be insufficient and would prefer a thicker and higher density foam be used here. I'm not a fan of the clamp type shoe bracket either, and would prefer a standard slide type shoe receiver. In fairness, I'm trying to use this with a Canon 1DX camera and 580EX flash unit. With my lens, this is about 6 pounds of camera and glass. This bracket is probably a little too light for this setup. The camera tends to rotate around the mount screw when I carry the bracket at my side, and the top tends to swing up as I carry it. I can live with these issues as I rarely use the bracket, and for only short periods when I do. However, with a big rig and shooting all day (such as at a wedding) you should invest in a heftier rig. I think this would work with a smaller setup just fine (ex. 7D with a a 28-135 and 430 flash). For the price, it's a very satisfactory bracket.

Bargain for the money
This is a simple, but sturdy flash bracket. It gets the job done. Specifically, it will place your speedlight above the camera to help reduce or eliminate the red-eye effect. You will need a cable or remote trigger to activate the speedlight.I used this with a off camera shoe cord. (coiled cable) The cord barely had enough room between the camera hot shoe and the bottom of the bracket. But, it does work.Transition from portrait mode to landscape mode and repositioning the speedlight was a snap.

Broke my flash because of this flimsy piece of gear.
I bought this because it could get here the fastest when I needed a bracket for an event. It doesn't clamp the hotshoe very well and even though I thought I had doublechecked it before shooting it still came loose resulting in the flash taking a might tumble and it broke. Suffice it to say the shoot didn't go as planned and I'm out another few hundred replacing other gear. First and last Vello product I'll ever be purchasing.

Great for the price
Works well. You can't beat this gadget for the price. Other brackets may work a little bit quicker and easier, but for a lot More $$$. I am not a professional anymore, but I will do a wedding now and then for family. This works very well for that. I do agree that the foam grip is a bit thin. I think it could be easily fixed. Maybe a heavy duty bicycle grip could be used. Just a thought.
