RuggedMade 16 GPM 2 Stage Hydraulic Log Splitter Pump, 3000 PSI

I am happy with this pump. It replaced one of a lower gpm capacity and so far is doing very well on my wood splitter with an upgrade to a 13 hp engine. I was surprised and disappointed that there was absolutely no literature or supporting information with the pump. There are more openings than you need to use, so I used the same ones that were used by the old pump. But someone setting up without one to reference might be stumped as to which outlets/inlets to use.

Installed pump on log splitter. Pump froze up in less than 2 hours. Seller refused to replace or refund because pump had oil in it and had been used. Would rate zero stars if it was an option.

Arrived on time and easy to mount. So far everything seems fine. Haven’t split any wood yet.

I hooked it up to the predator 6.5 hp. Both brand new. So far I got about 6 hours of full throttle running on both pieces. It's running great.

I had purchased, last year, a 16gpm pump for my home made log splitter only it's powered by a 12 hp B&S that work great together. I decided to purchase another 16 gpm for my second prototype splitter only this one is powered be a 6.5 horsepowered Honda. Allthough the description clearly states that it needs at least an 8.5 hp engine to run. On the first try the ram extended with a slight jerk action it was so powerful the round I split actually exploded into 3 pieces. The ram,2 directional would not and will not retract. It's stuck in the open position. I spoke with 3 mfg reps with three different products I'm using on the 2nd prototype. Ruggedmade gave me the most time, very knowledgeable and pointed out I need a larger engine or an 11 gpm gear pump. I ordered the 11 gpm today and hopefully it's the lack of power and not the ram sticking. The 16gpm gear pump will be used at a later date with a harbor freight cheap 8.5 hp engine or possibly an Amazon provided engine for my third splitter.

pump only lasted 6 months! After a certified mechanic opened it up he found 2 broken retainer washers (which half of them arw now shredded and metal shavings which hold the shafts in place. Im now being drilled on every possible detain asaide from them requesting a video of it running. before they will replace the defective pump which is under warranty.
