LACIS Antique Bronze Victorian Engraved Tatting Shuttle

I didn't realize the size of this shuttle lol but that's on me as I'm sure it's in the description. It's made wonderfully and if you are used to bigger shuttles you'll probably love it. But I'm new to tatting so the size is a bit big for me. I'm sure it'll be great once I get better.

I have received 2 of these. The first one was a beautiful color with gorgeous etching but the solder did not look clean and it was very difficult to wind. After fewer than 12 hours it fell apart into 2 pieces. It was promptly replaced. The 2nd one winds easily, holds the thread from unwinding but the etching and color are not as nice as the 1st one. Somewhat dissappointed.

It arrived broken. Awful solder job, very fragile. I returned it and I’m going to look for something sturdier.

Item as stated. Smooth, does not catch thread. Satisfied with product, will be getting another for color play, or similar. Bronze much better then the plastic counterparts more popular.

Fell apart. Just came apart where it was glued in the middle of a project. Only owned for 3 days. They should use a better adhesive.

This is a lovely shuttle with a beautiful antique look. But, it just popped apart as I was preparing to wind thread on it. Looks like it was just glued together. Don't purchase, it's pretty to look at, but it is low-quality manufacturing.

Snapped into two pieces the first time I went to wind the thread. To be clear, it's not one of the shuttles that are meant to come apart to switch out bobbins; I can see the glue (cheap solder?) lines where it came apart. I may try and fix it since it is pretty and I already have it, but I wouldn't recommend buying it.
