Farmhouse Storage & Play Loft

Very, very pleased with this bed. We were looking for something that would offer our 12 year old daughter a place to maintain a permanent fort and this fit the bill. The forts in the living room were getting a little old as I didn’t have the heart to make her take a fort down until I saw that she had stopped using it with any real consistency. She is approximately 5 feet tall and weighs 85 pounds. She is able to crawl in and out with ease, and while it is too low of a ceiling for her to fully sit up underneath, there is plenty of room to crawl around and lean against her pillows to enjoy a book, electronics, or a snooze. The bed itself is able to accommodate plenty of weight. I don’t recall the exact number from the advertisement, but it is definitely sturdy and well manufactured. My daughter and I (mom) put it together ourselves without any issues; took about 4 hours I’d say…we just worked a couple hours over two days. The instructions were clearer than most that I have encountered in my 45 years, with the parts nicely labeled to eliminate guessing. The only tools you’ll need, in addition to the Allen wrenches that are provided, is a drill with a Phillips head bit and a Phillips head screwdriver (to use to tighten the screws and make them flush—the drill at that stage can strip a head). The wood looks like it is painted with a dull, white primer (not glossy or shiny) and has a nice feel to it. Some spots have a little roughness to them, but I think it is the aesthetic look that the manufacturer was going for, rather than sloppy craftsmanship. I also like the option to have the book shelf and drawer on the left or the right…we chose the right due to the configuration of her room. We also chose not to install the drawer itself as it takes up a lot of space inside the fort. We simply glued the face of the drawer on with some wood glue; it just looks like it was meant to be a faux drawer. The bed itself is about halfway up the wall, which is nice as it is not so tall that it overcrowds or make the room look small. You will not need a boxspring with this. She had one with her old bed, but when we put on both the boxspring and the mattress, it made the top of the mattress flush with the top of the wooden sides. Not safe. Using just the mattress itself allows her to have the protection of the wooden sides in the event she rolls at night. I really cannot think of any cons. It is very sturdy once it is assembled and it checks all of our boxes. I hope this review is helpful. I am very impressed with this bed. It is heavy and once it is put together is very well made. All the pieces of the bed are made up of solid wood. It took my husband and I about 2 hours to assemble the entire bed. Make sure you take your time and do not lose any of your screws because there is no extra. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I like how each step was illustrated and in exact detail. Once built it is very stable and durable. My 4 year old son was thrilled with his big boy bed. The bed is so cute in person. It is comfortable for him. I like the safety bars across the sides that has a little tray that I will put his little tablet on.

This bed is a great buy! I searched for a LONG time for a bed for my 3 year old, and while this one was a little more expensive than others, I loved the look/idea. It did take some time to put together (my spouse and I did it in about 4 hours with power tools), but it is VERY sturdy, strong, quality material and looks amazing. It fits well even if not so huge bedrooms, has some great storage space and the little cubby underneath is so fun and even cuter with a set of lights ;-) If you are thinking about this bed, get it!!

My hubby is very handy with construction and putting things together. He has constructed a bed from lumber for one of our other kids. Like many people, he just lacks the time. Enter this cute bed for our 5 year old. PROS: He said it was very well constructed and solid. Even some holes that needed to be predrilled or fit very precisely, were as they should be. We had no cracked boards as some others mentioned. Instructions were clear and it is solid. CONS: Two of the large boards on the sides are very rough and not sanded as others mentioned. Also there are lots of pieces to this bed!!! Including a 75 page picture manual. Even for a handy man like my husband, it took over 3 hours to put together without stopping! Its true that the paint job could be better but that doesn't bother me too greatly. The little shelf on the side is small and kind of useless. I will replace it with something else. The play area underneath is great for little kids but if I had to do over, I would not have gotten the drawer option. The drawer sticks out inside and takes up a lot of the play area. I included a photo of my 6 foot hubby telling our girl goodnight so you can see the size a little more accurately. Personally, I dont see a child using this much past the age of 9 or 10 as it is shorter/smaller than your average loft bed. My daughter is happy though, so ultimately we are satisfied.

This bed is exactly as pictured and described in the reviews. For online shopping, I check reviews, other sites for different info and pictures, and dimensions so I don’t get “wish‘ed,” so I did all my research and this is the bed I chose and we all couldn’t be happier. My toddler loves everything about it. My wife loves it since it’s short enough that the toddler isn’t up so high. Three nights in and my baby girl wanted me to lay down with her, it’s got solid wood pieces for cross slatting and a square tube metal bar that runs lengthwise under the center of the bed, so I felt extremely comfortable that it would hold me and the bed didn’t even creak. It didn’t shift or wobble, it didn’t sag, I layed there with my daughter for 45 minutes until she fell asleep and then I slunk out. Another thing that makes it so strong is the million fastening bolts and screws it comes with. If you’re a complainer, move on, because this isn’t the bed for you. I love puzzles and I love putting box furniture together, so this was right up my alley…it was difficult, but I enjoyed it. My suggestion is have a ruler or tape measure with cm’s on it and make sure you’re using the right bolt for every part. The wood pieces are all labeled, but the hardware isn’t. There really aren’t that many different pieces, but it would be nice if they came labeled somehow. Last piece of info…this box is HEAVY! And since it’s long and thin, it’s awkward. My UPS driver is a 130 pound woman and she got it halfway up my driveway without a dolly somehow before knocking on the door for help. I didn’t see her otherwise I never would’ve let her get that far and I really have no clue how she did it. I’m a strong man and it was very heavy and difficult for me. I got it inside my front door and it sat right there for 36 hours until I put it together, and when I was ready for it, I opened the box and carried it into the assembly room piece by piece. Absolutely awesome product!!! Great price!!! Really Happy!!!

Solid bed! Exactly as pictured. The kid loves it. Assembly took about 2.5 hrs by a professional. I love the bed, but it has a strong smell that lingers.

This is a good job to assemble there is many step read well the instruction like "only tighten to 80%" ( for next step ). Once assemble it's amazing for the kid and you can hop in with your toddler even if your 255lbs like me or even more.

Perfect for that growing stage. My girl is 3.5 years old and she lovesss it. She loves the cubby underneath! Quality of wood in used is good, no pieces were be broken

Is faster if two person assembled, when we assembled we love the sturdiness and the quality ,I bought two ,right and left ,they are really beautiful ,kids have a lot of fun play under the bed
