Simple and Effective
The construction of the knife is solid and the blades it came with are as sharp as they're supposed to be. It feels nice in the hand and the cap it comes with does a great job keeping the blade covered.I mostly use this for cutting off random bits from things - like trimming the plastic on the connectors I got for my earphones or cutting foam to use as padding - so I haven't done much crafting yet, but my experience tells me it will perform well.Overall, it does exactly what it should.

Ordered a #1 knife with extra blades, received (3) #2 knives with no extra blades.
I ordered a #1 X-ACTO knife with extra blades and received 3 #2 X-ACTO knives with one blade in each of them but no extra blades. I'm assuming I got the better end of the deal and am not complaining about the mix-up. The knives work great, are fat and easy for me to hold, and the collar stays tight while I'm working with the knife. The blades are sharp and get the trimming jobs done easily. I use these knives to trim handmade soap edges and also the edges on cured resin projects. Thanks!

As for it not having a safety cap, yes, that would have been nice. I leave it on my work table, so I saved the card it came in, and cut off part of the bottom. I store the knife inside, the way it came, I have the fresh blades handy that way.This is the sharpest exacto I have used in a long time. It's sleek, thin, and very easy to hold. I was surprised at how easy it is to change blades. I've ditched my sizzors for cutting craft patterns. This is so much easier. I also bought a great "self healing" cutting mat, the Dahle Vantage. I wish I would have known about these two items sooner before damaging a couple tables.
