Work of art, of course.
Stunning. I've admired this whenever we go to any MOMA, whether in NYC or SF, but I decided to finally buy it online. I'm surprised at how many people have noticed I changed the centerpiece of my office coffee table--they all mention how the piece is "perfect" for my art deco office decor.

Gorgeous fruit bowl!
This looks great in my living room on the coffee table. I already had some bright colored orbs and added the Amazon smaller ones (white, grey, black & brown) to it. I will also add a few more colored ones to it. I am glad I bought the large size. I love it.

Looks attractive as long as you don't get to close or touch it.
Firstly the picture doesn't give you an idea of scale. This thing is huge.Second it is made of cheap fragile wood dowels screwed into a wood base. This "mechanism" for collapsing and opening works fine for the first couple of times you change the shape of the bowl but soon and often after they will not stay in place when positioned. The dowels will stick out at odd angles, slightly askew or just flop around so don't expect to open and collapse this a lot.Thirdly the finish is beautiful the first second you take it out of the box but as soon as you open the bowl the finish starts to chip off around the screws and is so thin that anything else that touches it, like the table you set it on will scrape off the finish from it and on to whatever surface you place it on.Fourth when you get close the "finishing" around the screws is not well done. IE some screws pop out at the edges and are not properly set for a clean aesthetic.In other words, this lovely design is extremely poorly executed. If this were made out of something more durable and functional like machined anodized aluminum it would be a keepsake. This gets two stars instead of one for originality of concept on all other terms it is a complete bust. I will return it as soon as possible.
