My Weber grill is over 25 years old and now it's grilling like new again. All parts fit perfectly!

I purchased this set two years ago for my aging Weber 1000. I've been delaying the install of these components as I've been trying to prolong the use of the original components by keeping the components clean. This weekend was reckoning day for the replacement of my original flavor bars due to heavy rust and I had too many that had tiny holes which were causing flare ups during grilling. I replaced the gas and crossover tubes at the same time. The whole job took me 10-15 minutes as I've done this task before on one of my other Weber grills. Grilled a 3 pound Tri-Tip last night and it came out great and no flare ups. I recommend this for those looking to replace the internal components to your vintage Weber grill.

Center tube of burner unit did not connect to the crossover tube as did the original equipment. It required adding a screw & bolt in order to hold it in place.

So this would have been a perfect install for my Weber 1000, but one of the outside burners that should be 29" was 28". The other outside burner was 29 and the center burner was 28.5, just this one was 28. In order to make it work, I had to leave one of the old outside burners in the grill.

Where to startI am utterly amazed I received all my parts due to the fact the box was totally destroyed. The ends were barely closed and there wasn't even enough cardboard to completely seal the ends.With that being said....as soon as I opened what was left of the box I realized someone had returned this product because the 3 plastic bags that contained the parts were just torn open. Luckily all the parts were there and undamaged. Don't know how that was even possible.For assembly....the 13 bars are ok.They ARE NOT as thick as weber. Weber uses 18 gauge these are 20 gauge. The lower the number the thicker the steel. I work in steel so I know what I am talking about. Please DO not believe what others are saying about it being thicker.. But for the price, I can live with it.So the bars do fit, I checked every one.The long gas tubes are also the correct length however, the 13 1/2 cross tube was only 12 3/4 long making the assembly impossible. Not sure if the person whom I believe had it before me had cut that piece and made it too short or what. I am asking for an exchange as of now. I will update my review after I see what the 2nd set will bring.Received my 2nd set today. Packaging was EVEN WORSE than the first set causing damage to one of the burner tubes.. And again the cross-member section was 12.5 inches long making it useless. Whoever is cutting the cross member section should be fired for sending out a product with razor-sharp burrs.DO NOT buy this product. a week and a half and still no functioning grill. Amazon should ban this seller
