It is intelligent so yes it will charge your battery. It ha sbeen charging my batteries in florida now for two years without a problem. They did their part but UPS did not. Maybe I just got a bad adapter. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great! *by A***R on February 25, 2021* Purchased this charger, a Wasabi en-el18 battery and DTSE BL-5 battery cover to use with my MB-D18 grip/D850. This charger has no instruction manual with the exception of what's written on the back of the charger. 1st time using the charger it did exactly what I expected, it calibrated and charged the battery in about 3.5hrs. Upon inserting the battery into the grip and checking the battery info it showed full charge and # of pics reset to zero. On a side note, the Wasabi battery did give the boost to 9FPS on the D850.
