True to photo. Lightweight.
Better in person! Love the size of the numbers. Very pretty.

Nice looking
I previously owned a Howard Miller clock & have used for 15 years. Bought this one when my old one could not keep accurate time anymore. I don’t like that it’s wood-looking but really plastic. The background color looks nice - off-white - and the numbers are easy to read on my living room wall. It does tick loud enough to hear if quietly reading, but with normal activity - TV viewing, listening to music, conversing - it’s not an issue. I like Howard Miller clocks!

Photo doesn't do it justice - it's a beautiful clock!
The Howard Miller Kalvin Wall Clock #625-418 is even more attractive in person than online photos. I've only had it less than a week, but so far it's keeping good time. The ticking is ever so slight - no bother at all. It looks gorgeous in our living room. I am impressed with the Howard Miller quality, and would definitely buy this brand of clock again.

Good looking, but not silent or atomic. Hence overpriced.
It has a slightly audible tick when you are very close to it. I put it in my living room where I don't hear it tick, but fear I would if it were in my bedroom when I was trying to fall asleep. This clock is both good looking and larger than most wall clocks. I found it while searching for atomic clocks, which it is not, so keep that in mind that if you don't want to reset it twice a year.Given its shortcomings, I think it is overpriced. I'm too lazy to send it back, but wish I hadn't bought it.,

Perfect size clock!
This is the perfect size clock for my office/library. It’s quiet and easy to see. The frame matches the woodwork of my desk. I love it.

Great clock. It ticks! And we love it.
My wife and I really like this clock. Although it has a quiet quartz movement, the second hand ticks as it moves around the clock face. The soft ticking sound is very relaxing. The ticking can only be heard when the room is very quiet (i.e. no talking or TV). It reminds me of my visits to grandma's. The clock in her kitchen quietly ticked to the smell of her kuchen and other delicious creations. The clock face is large enough to be easily seen from over 25 feet.

The Cherry Finish is Plastic
When I selected this clock at $57+ I thought that the Medium Brown Cherry Finished Case was made out of wood. The description says, "The Kalvin Wall Clock features a rich Wooden finish combined with a sleek charcoal gray bezel, bringing an elegant and sophisticated look to any space." It goes on to say "Proudly made in the USA, the Kalvin Wall Clock exemplifies the high-quality craftsmanship that Howard Miller is known for." I doubt it since the Howard Millar clock it replaced after 30 some years of service was a real wood frame.

Know that it is a ticking clock but removing the second hand stops the ticking sound.
This clock ticks and you will hear it well in a quiet room. If the ticking bothers you, this clock is not for you. However, I do not care about having a second hand. I opened the clock and pulled off the second hand and amazingly the ticking stopped. I wasn't expecting that and it saved me from changing the whole mechanism. These clocks are called fit ups which basically means that it is fully assembled in China and Howard Clock does not make or support mechanism replacements. Also, there is no wood finish, it is plastic. The clock does keep good time though.
