works as intended, pretty simplistic and fool proof.
You honestly can't mess it up. It you plan on using it in conjunction woth the lee classic loader kit you'll want to guage/trim brass before you neck size, or else the guage won't fit.

Reliable
Let’s cut straight to the point—this Lee Precision 308 Win Gauge/Holder is a masterclass in quality and precision. If you’re serious about reloading, this is the tool you need in your kit. The build quality is top-notch—solid, durable, and engineered to perfection. You can feel the craftsmanship the moment you pick it up. It holds .308 rounds securely and ensures you get consistent, accurate results every single time. No wobble, no play—just pure reliability. I’ve used other gauge/holders before, but they don’t even come close to this. It’s clear Lee Precision knows what they’re doing. Everything fits together exactly as it should, with zero frustration. You don’t have to worry about misalignment or inaccuracies—it’s as precise as it gets. If you're in the market for a gauge/holder that delivers on its promise, look no further. This is hands down the best I’ve used. Buy it once, and you’ll never need to look for another.

It worked as a stopgap
I'm loading on a progressive press and do all of my case prep on it. While waiting for a specific trim die, I needed something to get me going while my backorder was filled. This inexpensive little item fit the bill and worked pretty good. I will say this, I don't know how handloaders use only these to trim brass, even chucked in a drill. Here's the process for using this: 1. Thread the stop pin into your Lee cutter all the way down 2. Chuck the lock stud into your drill (faster the better IMO) 3. Slide a casing into the lock stud and tighten 4. Start the drill, and stick the cutter/pin into your casing until you no longer feel resistance 5. Remove the casing and measure All of my cases reliably trimmed down to a 2.007" measurement. Min is typically 2.005", so that's not too bad at all. It did take me forever to get 40 cases trimmed, and this thing does toss brass shavings everywhere, so wear eye protection and maybe even a glove on your trimmer hand to protect against brass splinters. But with no other options, and for less than $20, this got me by and did it accurately.

USA!! Made in Wisconsin.
About the cheapest option out there and very consistent. Mine cut my brass down to 2.010", 5 thou less than the max case length as described by the Lee pamphlet that came with my dies as well as my reloading book. Honestly that's completely fine by me. I'll never miss that 5 thou and I'd rather have a little error tolerance to work with to stay on the safe side. Seriously if my setup fails because that 5 thou wasn't there then I was screwed before I ever even started thinking about reloading lol. After 30 rounds they were all trimmed to .0005 to .0001 of each other and that was probably my calipers error tolerance at play there. I even disassembled the gauge from my cutter, reassembled it, and cut a new case. Then I compared it to a previously cut case and they were dead on with each other....as long as I did my part. If you wanted to gain some adjustability then I guess you could buy some shims and keep them around and then shim here and there to adjust the case length to your super exact desires......but I already know better ways to waste my time with a 308.....though it may be something to consider in 300 blk though; hmmmmm. Seriously they just work and oh yeah, bonus, they are manufactured right here in the USA in Hartford, Wisconsin. Help support good American manufacturing, and save some money in the process.

Great for the average shooter/hunter
These work awesome. The problem I have with it is the lack of adjustability. I like to trim my cases a little shorter then Sammi spec.
