Connect your old monitor to something newer!
We use this to connect a Raspberry Pi to an older Dell monitor. It works great, just plug and play. The picture quality is good, but we are obviously not using it with anything hi-def. Seems fairly sturdy for what it is. Came well packaged in a small cardboard box inside the Amazon mailer.

Works great on raspberry pi4
I am using two of these to run vga monitors on a raspberry pi 4. The pi definitely thinks I have two HDMI monitors. These inexpensive adapters allowed me to re use some old monitors on my pi project and saved me money.Highly recommended for thst purpose.

Used on a Raspberry Pi 4 4GB, with important boot config changes
Needed to hook up this little machine to a CRT monitor and this was an obvious first choice. It works, but the drivers in most distributions won't let you change the resolution from some strange huge resolution that caused a very large overscan for me. A quick google safari hunt later and I learned that I had to change the following kernel parameterdtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3dand from there, I could create an appropriate resolution with xrandr. I'm not sure if this is just an issue with the Raspberry Pi currently or if this adapter's internal converter is the culprit, but regardless I'll knock off a star just in case it's the latter. Once that was changed, it was flawless!

It works on my raspberry pi
Not much to say here. It worked. I only need the console to 'fix' things so my bar isn't very high BUT hey it works reliably and I have no problems with it. It feels like a quality product as well. No negatives I can think. Very reasonable priced!

Works Great With Raspberry Pi 4
Works great with multiple Raspberry Pi 4's.Great for those times when you need to quickly plug in a tiny, spare monitor to trouble shoot.

Make sure your monitor is compatible first, before you buy...
So I bought this with the plan to use an older Acer monitor (model number is G185H), which only has VGA with my Rpi4 (which uses micro HDMI). I was hoping this connector would do the trick and save me some money from having to buy a newer monitor with HDMI plugs, but sadly my Acer monitor is not compatible with this particular adapter for whatever reason. When I plug it in, it says "Input not supported". I then took my Rpi4 and the adapter to a friend's house to troubleshoot, and tested it out on 2 different monitors, and they both worked. I did of course have to adjust the resolutions on each monitor (which was as expected) and the Rpi4 itself to get the display to look alright. So major bummer there, looks like I will have to end up buying a different adapter or a new monitor - either way I'll be having to spend more money which I'm not thrilled about. Regardless, this ultimately did not work out for me but the adapter itself does in fact work, like I said earlier just make sure your monitor is compatible before you buy...
