Weak brew -- needs more bean less water -- See ADDENDUM below
I've been buying unroasted beans from amazon for a couple of years. I generally look for less expensive beans, because they still produce a cup of coffee that is better than you'll get a the grocery store. The last previous batch. 25lb. of Peruvian -- the cheapest I had purchased at that point still produced a good cup of coffee. THIS batch -- 30 lbs. of brazilian, form MINAS Espresso -- appears to be a peaberry. This is marketed as "Greenbelt Brand ". I can see no relation between "Greenbelt and "Minas Espresso". I would not call this coffee "Premium" . It takes considerably more coffee and more time to brew. I finally got a decent cup of coffee by increasing the coffee by 50% and cutting back on the water. 12 tsp. coffee beans to 6, 6 oz. cups of water brewed on stove top and filtered twice to get a decent brew strength. After that it's actually quite good.. The brew time in a press pot doesn't cut it, unless you like lukewarm coffee. I tried several different roasts, and even the darker roast produced very little coffee smell or the oils that you normally see on a dark roasted bean.ADDENDUM --- After using 6 quarts of beans I've decided to raise my rating from 1 to 3 stars. This coffee does produce a nice smooth cup if you are willing to spend the extra time brewing, and the additional 50% or more coffee needed to get the brew strength right. Brew strength somewhat milder, less bitter and without the burnt taste that you would get from a famous coffee chain. I would actually give it a 5 if it wasn't for the quantity of coffee and the extra time needed to brew.

It is very good
I was afraid to buy 30 lbs of green beans untested. I like it best roasted medium. It has a pleasant bitterness that finishes like high cacao chocolate. And it's very inexpensive when you get 30 lbs. I like it a lot. It is very clean.

Good bean, good roast
Roasted to a city+, very nice. Not always easy to please all in the house, but this seems to do the trick. Roasted about 2 lbs & and had zero quackers/defects.
