Wow.
So let’s start with I have no idea if it’s the dog food or not.My large skinny mutt had a rough 2 first years of life. Every 4 months or so she would have debilitating pain (seemed like back maybe legs sometimes. We would get pain management from the vet but no real answers.) No one thought it was at all food related. The thing is, right around the time I switched to this dog food (also the time she stopped growing… Roughly at 18 months/2 years old), she became a new dog. I mean not just the bouts of debilitating pain but the fear of everything, not jumping or really playing a lot. She is living her best life now as a hyper not-so-puppy-puppy. So do I know it’s the dog food? Nope. Considering I don’t strictly feed this food and nothing else (they get table scraps from time to time and refrigerated dog food when I’m out of town) I kind of doubt it’s the dog food. But you wont find me testing the theory anytime soon!! Got it on auto delivery!! Plus she’s kind of picky and seems to love both “flavors”. So 5 stars from me!

Love the use of crickets!
I originally had this food for my Frenchie because of allergies. She's gone and I have a 14 lb littler dainty eater and the food is larger than his liking. Would love a smaller bites version too. Same food, just smaller kibble. He never gets tummy issues, and poops are easy to clean and not smelly. He's healthy, calm and energetic to play. I really like this food!

My dog really loves this food
I buy the small bag of each variety of jiminys dry food and mix them and that is enough for her for a month. She loves this food. And previous vets told me to feed her only chicken and rice when she had very loose stools. Up to that point I was giving her chicken and brown rice kibble in the morning and chicken and rice freshly cooked in the afternoon. I kept feeding her only chicken and rice and then she started pooping blood. There was only one vet who could work her in that day and he determined she was allergic to chicken and regular meats. He suggested a list of food and after reading up on them, jiminys was what I tried. She has had normal full poops since the very first bowl. She has almost entirely quit chewing her front paws. Only very occasionally now. She's been on this food for almost 2 weeks and hasn't shown any fatigue at eating it at all. She is much more comfortable and has more energy. I can't tell you how great it feels to see her have normal poops. I adopted her abt a year and a half ago and she's never had normal unmushy poops until she started this food. Forever a fan and will feed her nothing else.I buy a small bag of each variety and mix them. And she loves them.

Soldier Fly Larvae
I was under the impression that Jiminy's Good Grub Insect Protein Oven-Baked Dog Food was made from crickets. No. According to the bag, it's made from Soldier Fly Larvae. Soldier flies, crickets - it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. The general idea is good and I want to support it. It's expensive. I hope the price comes down once it becomes more widely accepted. My smaller dog is the picky eater around my house. He doesn't hate the Jiminy's dog food but he doesn't love it either. If there's anything else to munch on, he'll eat that before the Jiminy's. The big dogs, on the other hand, will eat anything and everything so they aren't a good test of the Jiminy's. I hope this idea and the company are both successful.

Sick dog
My dog is very fussy and also has diarrhea when I change food so I'm very careful. This seemed like a good alternative. When the bag arrived I took a few pieces of the dry food and he sniffed it, put it in his mouth then spit it out. I should have stopped there. Instead I mixed 1/8 of a cup in his dry food he normally eats. He slurped it down. I was happy. An hour later I wasn't. He was throwing the food up he had just eaten. That's was a first. I expected diarrhea but not that. He must have known there was something he didn't like in it. My dog is a Burmese. Maybe a fluke but just be aware. That's why I'm throwing it out. My other dog a border healer wouldn't even touch her food with it mixed in, she ate a few pieces from the bag but refused to eat her food with it mixed in. I was hoping to rate this product well as they both have problems, one stomach the other allergies. It's back to square one to finding a better product. Please be careful with this product, for me it was a waste of money.

Excellent dog food.
Yes, Cricket food is nutritious and your dogs will love it. It has about double the protein as meet and has pre-biotics which is good when my puppies get diarrhea. It is easy to serve and benefits the environment. Considering the future of the world, not a bad product to try for your pup.
