These are really effective ONCE you learn how they work. On the box are two - and only two - very cryptic thumbnail illustrations; these are the only " instructions. HOWEVER, a quick dash to YouTube turn out a host of very informative videos on how to proceed. So . . . My verdict is five stars and a strong recommendation for better INCLUDED instructions

It works and does not tend to break the leads. It is well-made and makes it easier to use mechanical pencils. Quick and efficient. Can be used professionally.

I love how this sharpener has two point options, one is your pretty typical point which is great for writing and drawing. The OTHER option is P O I N T Y, super delicate work because the moment you make contact with paper that point is crumbling into oblivious, or I just don't know what I'm doing. It's very easy to use, drop lead into either hole, shove whole pencil in whole, give it the whirly twirly, and use the white sponge thing to retract led and clean tip. Then proceed with your pencil stuff.

The sharpener is designed to sharpen a specific mechanical pencil. I modified the sharpener to accommodate all my various pencils. Works perfect never breaking the color leads.

Works fine

Works great for sharpening 2mm leads. Easy to sharpen leads. I'm not sure how to empty it. I do recommend if you need 2mm leads sharpened.

Do not buy this product if your lead is an artists lead for drawing. It has two gauge holes in the top into which you place lead as extended from the pencil. This shows you how far the lead should be extended from the pencil when placed in the sharpening hole. But these holes are small and accept only two small sizes of lead. Thus it is ineffective for sharpening thick lead. Any lead thicker than the lead you might find in some traditional mechincial pencils will not be properly sharpened by this device. Amazopn does not tell you that in the description.

This product sucks. If you are looking for a sharpener for your 2mm lead with a reservoir look elsewhere. This will break your leads, every single one without failing. I cannot undersell how this product is just plain crap for a reputable brand. Please do not buy it or you will be disappointed. You will. Hey, you! You, reading this! Don’t buy this! This is crap!

Best 2mm sharpener ever

Ich gebe zu, ich bin ein Fan von Staedtler-Produkten und ich liebe meine Fallminenstifte für die 2mm Minen aus der Mars-Technico-Linie, aber der eingebaute Spitzer im Stift macht nur eine relative kurze Spitze, die daher auch oft nachgespitzt werden muss. Die Spitzreste, die sich in der Stiftkappe ansammeln verwende ich zwar meistens, um Übergänge zu verblenden, aber manchmal hab ich nicht gleich Verwendung dafür und entleere die Reste in einem eigenen Behälter. Das sollte man immer wieder mal machen, denn die Spitzreste fallen leicht aus der Kappe, wenn man den Stift zur Seite legt. Der Minenspitzer allerdings sammelt die Spitzreste und macht auch noch zwei verschieden lange Spitzen. Ich bevorzuge die längere und spitze daher meine Fallminen fast ausschließlich nur mehr mit dem Spitzer. Für alle die vor dem Kauf wissen wollen, wie es funktioniert: 1. Am Deckel des Spitzers befinden sich zusätzlich zur Spitzöffnung zwei kleine Öffnungen. Die eine ist für eine kurze Spitze, die andere für eine etwas längere Spitze 2. Man soll die Mine aus dem Stift in die Öffnung fallen lassen und den Stiftgreifer soweit nach vor schieben bis dieser am Deckel anstößt. Dadurch wird die Spitzdistanz ermittelt. Bei der Öffnung mit der kurzen Spitze ist der Abstand zwischen Mine und Stiftöffnung logischerweise kleiner als bei der langen Spitze. 3. Dann steckt man den Stift in die Spitzöffnung und zwar so, dass er sicher in der Öffnung einrastet. 4. Jetzt dreht man den Stift am besten so lange, bis kein Widerstand mehr zu spüren ist. Mit den Fingern am besten am Mündungsteil der Spitzöffnung angreifen, dann lässt es sich auch leicht drehen. Die Verarbeitung des Spitzer ist hochwertig und robust. Für Künstler, Designer, Grafiker, Illustratoren, technische Zeichner, Architekten etc. (und Zeichen-Nerds, wie mich) eine absolute Kaufempfehlung.
