I think many people have considered doing a podcast on a topic that interests them or their area of expertise. I know I have thought about it off and on. This book is perfect if you have ever considered doing a podcast. While I wouldn't agree that the steps are necessarily simple, as the author claims, he does give you a solid background on everything from selecting your topic to branding to the shape of the episodes themselves to the more technical aspects like recording and editing. It's funny. I read a lot of nonfiction books, but this one actually had me stopping and starting as I pondered some of the different ideas discussed. What would my niche be? How would I name it? What kind of guests could I have? The book is dead practical, but it also inspires dreaming of the possibilities. If you've ever considered having a podcast, I highly recommend this book to get you beyond just thinking about it—and doing it the right way.I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
