The instructions suggest all needed for assembly is a screwdriver. Had to use a drill even though the wood is relatively soft. Joints requiring screws did not have the inner screw direction pre drilled. It was not so easy for me to ensure the screws penetrated the base at the required angles.The unit looks nice assembled but, again, the wood is soft and somewhat thin. Appears sturdy enough for my purpose which is not using it for a planter but for storing various garden supplies on my back porch.

I put it together easily within an hour. Wood is fragile so don’t completely tighten until the end and don’t tighten too much or it might crack. I bought a clear weatherproof paint from Home Depot as I’ll keep it outside in the summer and bring it inside for the winter. Although it said “clear” the weatherproof paint had a tint that turned the grey into a griege which matches my decor better. I bought 1 gallon grow bags so I can take them outside to water in the winter. Overall, I’m pleased with my purchase.

I liked the planter. Easy to assemble and attractive. but....there were no herb snips included!
