Bye bye Morning Coffee! I love this stuff!
I've been a Nutritional Researcher for over 30 years but still enjoyed my morning cup of Coffee. After looking in to several, healthier alternatives, I decided on Matcha Green Tea for two reasons. Number one. It's caffeine content. (I still wanted my early morning boost) And number two. Matcha is, simply put, an anti-oxidant powerhouse! Simply do a little research for yourself to back that statement up. I admit, although I've been drinking Green Tea for years, I'm a total newby when it comes to Matcha. I looked over countless brands here on Amazon and finally decided on Organic Wise. In a nutshell, I love it! It mixes easily with my little hand mixer and the company e-mailed me complete directions for preparing it. (Which is really easy. No "Ceremony" needed!) I like it a bit strong. A half teaspoon per 8 oz of water just below boiling. Add a half teaspoon of raw, unfiltered Honey and I've found my Coffee Replacement! You bet. Highly recommended and I will be ordering again!

Tasted like a balloon :(
It had a very strong latex taste. No matter what I mixed with it, you could not escape the gross taste. I normally get the Teavana brand at Starbucks and thought I could get something similar for cheaper. Wish I would have returned it.

Delicious tasting matcha!
I am really happy with this product! I tend to dislike the matcha powders that smell or taste fishy, and this one doesn't seem to have that at all. A little goes a long way with this stuff, and I like to put about a teaspoon worth into 12 ounces of water with a squeeze of lemon juice and drink it first thing in the morning. The taste is really great and it seems to mix well when I use my shaker bottle. The packaging is nice, and I think it's a good amount for the price! I'm really happy with this product and will purchase again and again.

Great choice of matcha
I spent a lot of time trying decide which brand of matcha to get. I'm glad I went with Orangic Wise--the matcha is a vibrant green, smells fresh, and tastes the way matcha is supposed to. My order also arrived a day early, and that's always a plus for me. I wasn't paid to say this, nor do I know anyone affiliated with this company, I am just really happy with my purchase. I will buy from Organic Wise again in the future.

Culinary [Recipe] Grade At Typical Price
My opinion is this tea powder is culinary grade [for putting in recipes] rather than ceremonial grade [for making tea]. Looking on Amazon, you will see the price for culinary grade is same or less expensive than offered here. So I rate this three stars: OK, typical, average. See below for why I think so. Apologies for being long winded.I received this tea powder for $1 instead of $25; nonetheless my review is as unbiased by this circumstance as I can manage. In particular, I don't feel automatically compelled to rate this "4 or 5 stars" as suggested in email sent to me.To rate a product, one must either compare it to others offered elsewhere, to one's expectations, or to knowledge of product based on experience or study.I am handicapped here.I don't have $25 spare to buy 1 ounce ceremonial grade matcha, or $25 to buy 4 ounces of culinary grade matcha from another supplier to compare to this product. If anyone has tried the ceremonial grade as tea, please write and compare it to this product. As far as knowledge and expectations, I "know" only what I read on Wikipedia and the expectation that the tea will have the stimulating while relaxing effect of green tea, which has not only caffeine for stimulation but relatively large amounts of L-theanine for contemplative focus. I also expect the tea to have a sweeter, more mouth feel, more umami taste, and less bitter taste than regular green tea which has not been shade grown for a few weeks and contains stems and veins. Culinary grade is said to be less sweet, more gritty, and more bitter than ceremonial grade. At one quarter of the going price for ceremonial grade tea, this product cannot be ceremonial grade and is likely somewhere in the culinary grade range. This tea powder, when whisked up with hot water, is not very sweet, has a slightly creamy taste, and is rather bitter. So, as I mention, without being able to compare to other offerings of culinary or ceremonial grade, I must rate this as average culinary grade tea.I found a way to make this tea more tasty as a beverage: whisk it up with room temperature water instead of hot water. Made this way it isn't so bitter, and becomes a pleasing sipping experience. Also note there are also much less expensive offerings of "matcha" on Amazon--as much as one tenth the price per ounce! However I'd be suspicious of those offered at a fraction of this $25 for 4 ounce price. They could be green tea grown in other places than Japan, not organic, not shade grown prior to harvesting, or just green tea leaves ground up veins and all. These "cheap" products could try calling themselves "matcha," on the basis they are ground up green tea, but that doesn't mean they are Japanese matcha. If you try these, compare bitterness, sweetness, mouthfeel, creaminess, and psychological effects. Let us know what you find.Thank you for reading this rather long review: I hope it helps you make informed decisions.
