A BOOK OF SIGNIFICANT SUBSTANCE
This is one of the best books I have read this year by far! Don't be mis-lead by the sub-title. This book is a "must read" for anyone who has ever questioned what is happening in our churches today, large and small. The author has many years of experience as a senior pastor and his straight talk will put you back on solid ground concerning what it really means to be a Christian. The questions he raises and addresses get straight to the point without the "small talk"! This is the real deal. It is a book worth reading more than once. Each chapter also has some significant questions to ponder. Get it, read it and I think you will be glad that you did!

Jesus is not for sale
Easy read written by a retired pastor (which I didn't realize until he said so in the book). I agree with quite a bit in this book. I am an introvert and prefer peace and quiet. I never understood why I had hard times getting comfortable in most churches. This book was definitely helpful in opening my eyes to why that could be so.

Interesting, but a bit flawed in my opinion
Quiet Faith provided some thought provoking questions.

Quiet Faith: An Introvert's Guide to Spiritual Survival
This is a book that deals with things many, many Christians have felt but were reluctant to express. Jud tells readers that it's not only OK to have doubts, but doubts are the route to a better understanding of and a closer walk with God. It is genuine, authentic, easy to read, instructive but not vindictive. I've read every one of Jud's books and this one is my favorite. It has lots to make me feel better about myself and my faith.

A Very Good Book from a Very Good Author
I highly recommend this book to everyone. I haven't finished reading it yet, but I love what I've already read. And I love the author. I grew up with him. He is my cousin and I do believe being an introvert runs in families - in ours anyway. Also, Jud is a very fine man and an excellent writer. I am proud to call him my cousin.

So refreshing
It's great to get a point of view from someone who doesn't equate Christianity with being extroverted. This is a well written and thoughtful book that brings up many important ideas about faith and the bible which anyone, introverted or not, can learn from.

Deceptive. Reader beware!
Well, it started out okay, but as I read through the chapters, the author was criticizing God's word, as if it was wrong about dealing with introverts. Then, in chapter 4, the author was referring to a church he was a guest speaker at, as a "fine church". This "fine church" was conducting "contemplative services"! Let me tell you all about those churches...that teaching is heretical to its core. New Age, to be exact. But don't take my word for it, Google it. And saying that the Word of God doesn't work, is saying God is lying. As Christians, we either take God at His word, or we don't. And if we don't, what does that say about our relationship with the Lord?

Finally, a kindred spirit!
Jud Edwards expresses what many of us have felt about our "inadequacies" our entire lives! No longer do we have to be embarrassed that we feel so out of place and uncomfortable in the middle of loud, boisterous, enthusiastic Christians. Jud helps us understand that God made us the way we are for a reason and we are not "defective". With wisdom and humor, he helps us understand ourselves and helps the extroverts understand us as well. I would recommend this book to not only other introverts, but to those extroverts who can't figure out why we are the way we are and how God uses us in unique ways in the same way he uses them to bless and meet the needs of others.

Helpful
I had just suffered religious trauma in a Catholic church. I remembered that I had this book on my shelf. It literally brought me back to myself and saved me in a very dark time. I find the author very gentle, relaxed, and comfortable in himself. It's just so lovely when an introvert is at peace with him/herself like this author is and can guide younger introverts like myself towards a healthy sense of faith. I am truly grateful for this book.

Disappointed
I was disappointed to say the least.I was looking for answers, advice. Instead it felt like gloom and doom. He was honest, provided scripture, but a whole lot more references to authors. I few I wouldn’t have dabbled in - (read a synopsis of each book).Maybe into the 3rd chapter I had to confirm What church/faith he had been pastor of. The feeling of the book was off. He points out negative things in the church we may all have experienced without giving any solution.I think by the 6th chapter he informs you he stopped going to church after he retired. Wich at that point was 2 yrs.just my honest opinion, I wouldn’t recommend this book.
