Didn't work.
Echoing the same issue another user had: only worked if I partly pushed the audio in cable into the audio in port. I took it apart to try and solve the issue and discovered the audio in had a cutoff switch while the "headphone" port did not, leading me to believe they were switched as a different user mentioned. However, it still did not work using the headphone jack as the audio in port.Waste of time and money.

Gives new life to Logitech z560s.
Broken control pod with left channels dead meant that this was necessary to use the speakers again. This thing works well, but is missing 4.1. It's a 2.1 that mirrors both fronts to the back. Also doesn't have the M3D aka simulated 4.1 from a 2.1 source.

This may be your only option
If you're like me and you have had the Logitech Z-560 for almost 20 years and the speakers and woofer/amp are still going strong, but the controller/preamp has worn out... then this may be your only option. The sound is not as good with this replacement and it only drives two channels, but it's passible. (Face it, if you were a true audiophile you wouldn't be reading this right now).As others have pointed out, the input jacks are mislabeled - the "headphones" icon actually marks the line-level stereo INPUT, and vice versa. Also, the woofer blooms and then breaks pretty early as you turn that pot. Volume is strong. It's good enough for my mid-level computer, and at this price it's not a bad deal to extend the life of these old speakers.4 out of 5 stars.

Audio In does not work
I bought this to extend the life of my Z-560's but the product doesn't work. With everything plugged in and turned on, there was no sound at all. After trouble shooting I found that if I pulled the 3.5mm jack out of the "Audio In" port slightly, the speakers would partially work. Sometimes I would only get one channel. I tried a different 3.5mm cable and the same thing happened. The issue is with the "Audio In" jack on the circuit board. The other issue is that the subwoofer is either all the way on or all the way off. The bass level can't be adjusted. Even if you barely turn the bass knob it will jack the sub up to max. I will be returning this.

This was NOT for the speaker system as advertised.
Was not for the stated Z-2300 speaker system. Did not plug into the subwoofer as needed. Might work for other Logitech speakers now that the paperwork says Z-560 but not what was advertised on the website when purchase was made.

Very Disappointed
This was cheaply made and was defective. It did not work.

Cheaply made but it works
Picked this up for my Logitech Z560 system that's been sitting for years because the control pod was broken. It works, but it's made with cheap plastic, and the labels for the headphone and audio in were backwards on the unit. Nevertheless, my sound system is back up and running in 2.1 stereo, but it beats not working at all.
