Cool RC plane for aerobatcs, probably not for the beginner
I got into RC planes 4 or 5 years ago and this is my 5th plane (all park fliers, small electric planes you can fly in a park or even inside a big gym or smth). My previous plane was from Top Race as well (TR-C385, the Cub) and my son and I liked it so much I ordered this one. This plane is unexpectedly smaller but since it's heavier it flies faster and is a bit more difficult to control. Just like the Cub it has 3 modes, switched by the switch on the transmitter: the easiest (gyros and servos keep the plane mostly level and it's easier to control, but you can't do too much with it), the medium (gyros and servos take the back seat and you have more control and can do some aerobatics) and the difficult (no self-correction, you have full control). Since it's 4-channel plane you can do things like roll, Immelmann, fly upside down, and other crazy stuff. On the most difficult setting controlling this thing becomes pretty difficult, especially in the wind. I noticed that it has a tendency to fall into a spin (not caused by the stall) which I have yet to figured out how to get out of - other than flip the mode to easy or even medium and it will level itself. The battery allows for 10 to 15 minutes of continuous flight (I don't max out the throttle, keep it somewhere in the middle most of the time). The transmitter has 4 AA batteries and they last a looooong time, basically I replace them in the beginning of each season and that's it. It's very sturdy, my son keep running it into the ground because he likes using the difficult mode, and it has yet to break anything except propeller (the plane comes with 2 spares). Overall I'm very happy with the plane, it allowed me to spend a few of hours in the park with my 13yo son exploring and learning various tricks - and my 11yo son finally learned to control it too!

Great plane for beginners learning to fly. Good value.
Great plane for novices and very fun for experienced pilots. Very stable plane and easy to fly die to multi gyro sensors which keep it on straight and level flight. The remote has a three position switch for beginner, advanced and expert. As long as you set it to beginner mode you will be flying the plane in minutes. It is also has a trick switch that works very well too. Does rolls and loops. Works perfect. The best way to launch is by hand. Set throttle to half speed and simply give the plane a light throw and its off. Very easy to control. Very good range. It glides very easily so you can be light on the throttle and keep it under control. Each battery lasts about 30 minutes, sometimes longer. Set of two extra batteries is $13. Well worth it and makes your flying time over an hour. To land the plane, simply slow down the throttle and let it glide down to a grassy surface. It will land easily and the propellor will pop off which is a safety feature from keeping it from breaking. Genius and works perfect. Great plane, great value. We now have two if them, the mustang and corsair and they are both great.

Great beginner plane
Great little RC plane. Flys great in our small park, where the field is only a 1/4 mile track. Acrobatics are really easy in beginner and intermediate mode. Have only attempted expert once and im not ready for that. Planning on getting my 13 year old son 1 so we got something outside to do together. Recommend purchasing more batteries and propellers, which are available and reasonably priced. Have crashed several times but the way the propeller pops off, protects it from damage very well. I'm a 48 year old kid again.

Fun RC plane for beginners
I purchased this and another plane (TR-C285G) for my 12-yr-old son and me to fly. We love them and have had a lot of fun. We go out for an hour in the morning or evening and fly them at the athletic field at his middle school. You need quite a bit of space, at least the size of a football field, without obstructions. We don't bother with the wheels on either plane. On this plane we never even took the wheels out of the box. We just take off by throwing the planes in the air with the throttle at max and the elevators at their highest position. We just land/crash in the grass. I think this plane is the more sleek and fast of the two. It cuts through the sky pretty well and is fun to watch. In beginner mode it is very easy to fly. We have no prior experience other than my son's video game experience--which probably helps. But I would not purchase this for a young child. The gyros keep the plane pretty level. I typically fly in intermediate mode because it provides more agility and the plane can do more aerobatic moves without pushing the stunt button. When the plane is really high in the sky I can attempt advanced mode (i.e. no gyros) for about 15 seconds. Pretty quickly it starts heading toward the ground because I am not skilled and so I quickly switch it back to beginner or intermediate mode and it levels off. I think it is a durable plane. It is a bit thicker than the TR-C285G, which makes it more durable. It is made of styrofoam and is very light. I have crashed it head-first into the grass, and have had two mid-air collisions (not on purpose) with the other plane. On one collision the wing tore on other plane. But that was easily fixed with Bob Smith foam glue. This plane has not been damaged in any of its many accidents. The propellers pop off nearly every time we land (or crash). Because the propellers are mostly black they are very hard to find in the grass. So, we painted fluorescent orange stripes on them to make them easier to find. The plane flies pretty fast at full throttle. I use full throttle to take off and for aerobatics. Otherwise I keep it at about half throttle so that it doesn't get away from me. It can go very high. I fly it as high as 300 feet. But then it starts to get too small to see and then it is hard to keep track of which direction it is flying. Another fun thing is to get it up really high and then turn off the throttle. It floats very well and it is fun gliding it back down to the ground. One reviewer commented that the rudder does not turn much. True. I don't ever use the rudder when I fly it. Using the ailerons is sufficient for turning. Other reviewers commented that the plane did not work out of the box or it fell apart when it crashed. Sounds like a quality control issue. Just send it back and get a replacement. Another reviewer said that while taking off it went straight into the ground. True. I have to aim the elevator up when taking off or it does crash very quickly. I definitely recommend flying over grass while you are learning. I have crashed this plane MANY times. But it still works and has no noticeable damage. Stay away from trees if you can. I can attest to the fact that it is not fun climbing a 50-foot tree to retrieve a little foam airplane. By comparison, the TR-C285G flies slower and hangs in the air a little more than this one. So, it seems a little easier to fly than this one. But this one looks more cool in the air and is more fun to fly IMHO. AFTER you feel confident that you are going to keep this plane, purchase a couple of additional batteries. I purchased "VOLANTEXRC 2pcs 3.7V 380mAh Lipo Rechargeable Battery for RC Airplane." Each battery charge lasts about 20 minutes. So, it is nice to have more than one. All in all, this is a very fun plane. Give it a try. I highly recommend it.

Impossible to fly
Crash Crash Crash!!!! We bought this plane and the trainer/cessina plane for my boy. His plane was so easy to fly and it glides in the wind. This P51 Muatang would never fly for more than 5 seconds. Its a brick compared to the trainer plane. It finally split the fuselage along the top where the propeller is. A fragile brick of foam. Live and learn go with the trainer.

this plane is great for beginners super maneuverable and stable i crashed it a few time quite hard but it help up just fine and after four tries i flew it with ease and since this is only my third plane i was very impressed. It does fly rather quick so i lowered the throttle a bit and made a few adjustmnets to the elevator and she flies beautifully i highly recommend for either beginners or pros
