Good picture quality outside - poor inside
This is an interesting 4k camera that I had high hopes for to stream our Church services. Its video format is MJPEG, which works fine with windows. but Linux doesn't support it natively, and whilst it can be made to work, it does put an extra load on the processor. The outside picture quality was good, but the inside picture quality was very poor. The colour balance was really off, and the brightness gain control was poor. The picture from the camera inside kept going brighter and darker every few seconds on its own.Unfortunately I had to return it because of its poor indoor performance, it was a shame really. Outside would be ok, but it is not a weather proof camera. Hope this helps someone. :)

Works well on Linux and manual lens is fun. But colours are off!
The good: * zoom lens allows you to adjust what is visible if you use this camera for video calls * you can get nice blurry backgrounds if you open up the aperture * you can get quite close up images with the lens * you can replace he lens * works out-of-the box under LinuxThe bad: * colours are under-saturated and washed out (see picture of reference chart vs what it should look like) * a center circle is more yellowish (seen also in other review) * it do not think it is the lens, because I could the same effect without lens and with photo camera lens * I tried painting the inside of the vamera black (covering brass elements, etc.) to exclude any weird reflections, but did not help * unclear what is causing this; maybe the the filter glass on the sensor??TLDR; good if you want a manual lens to play with, but it is a no-go if you care a lot about colourModel review: ELP-USB8MP02G-SFV

Handy For Specific Use Cases
The lense is okay, can see some imperfections at certain zoom/focus levels but good enough for a 1080p image. It can zoom crazy far and even provide pretty extreme macro shots thanks to a crazy wide focus range. For specific use cases it could be fantastic.Colour reproduction lets it doen. Inconsistent and often blue, using for conference calls can make you look like a zombie. I have combined with an rgb led lightsource so I can force the colour science to 'reset' and it does pickup skin tones after a few triesIf it had a way to fix or adjust the white ballance it could be perfect.obviously colour can be fixed in certain applications, but sadly not in most video conference platforms.

Good zoom lens for distance.
We are now live streaming our Church services via Zoom. We already had a camera which showed about half of the front of the church. This was bought as a second camera for close up shots of the person preaching. The telephoto is good, the camera, sitting on the sound desk at the back of the church, can be zoomed in to give a good close up shot of the speaker at the lectern. The zoom and focus are very sensitive, it takes some fiddling to get it just right. The colour is hugely inferior to our other low priced but fixed lens camera. A little pricey but, overall a decent solution to our needs.

Take control
This is a hard review to write. I've decided to give it 5 stars throughout because it does what it's supposed to. But it's not without faults. The primary fault is that it doesn't deliver its advertised 8k imagery without a lot of intervention, and the resulting images are not useful because the format seems to be incompatible with recording software so the results are distorted to match my screen. As other reviewers have mentioned, the colour is poorly saturated, necessitating a lot of configuration in post. The lens is very basic indeed as one might expect at this price point. There is about 90 degrees of rotation in the focus ring. But that's not your range of focus. It's needed because the range of focus at the long end of the zoom is in a very different place to the focus at the wide end. So zooming while recording is not possible, it would throw the focus wildly off. And there is no possibility of auto focus since there is no link from photo sensor to the lens mount. But, for £80 what is reasonable to expect? This is clearly a specialist product offering manual control over a USB camera. If you want a logitech then by all means go that way. But if you want to be in control.....

Isnt usable for my purposes.
Good image quality, but not usable for my purposes: Visualising focimeter readings through an ocular.

Works using USB C adapter to mobile phone and MS Go tablet. Lens adjustments are very stiff!
I like the fact it has possibilities and I look forward to using it with an adapter with my telescope as well as the old style photographic lens used on SLR's.I'm not expecting amazing results but experimenting before purchasing something more expensive.Manual zoom and focus are pretty stiff and I hope with a little more use they might free up.

Zoom is quite tight
this is an improvement on the wide angles from mot but now quite tight. It worked well with instant results from my Mac mini but not great depth of focus. I was trying to frame better for zoom with green screen and it does work but not quite as flexible as I had hoped. You will need an auxiliary microphone.
