Convient way to get what you can get for free via web searches
If the price for a new copy were down in the $8-9 range (or less for used) instead of $16+ for would have given this a four star. Some of the material is dated which is expected given fast pace of technology evolution, some of it still relevant as tips, techniques tend to have longer shelf life. Most if not all of what is in the book you can find via various websites, however there is the ease of it being in one place pre-printed for reading. Would like to have read, seen and heard more of the authors expereinces as much of the book reads like an interview or discussions with others which has some value. However if I want to read interview type material can get that off of the web. Overall, Convient way to get what you can get for free via web searches, if you can get for $8 or so new, less for used, might be worth it.

A Toolbox of Information
I recently saw the author fly a Phantom 3 Professional over Fort San Lorenzo, a UNESCO Heritage site on the shores of Panama and also over a remote rainforest village in Panama's Darian Province. Watching drones in action inspired me to learn more about their applications, especially the types of comparative maps generated by drones. This book teaches readers:1) about aerial photogrammetry (which benefits from a new generation of software for cameras placed on drones),2) how to prepare a variety of flight plans, and gear up in a light or low cost way,3) how to fly, photograph, and process images and stitch them together into maps, and also,4) there is a helpful comparison of the best drones available for mapping purposes. It provides the information to create your own drone-based map mosaics for areas and times of your choosing. It is a practical field guide for drone-flying novices and will enhance the skills of experienced enthusiasts. Every page has helpful diagrams or insightful photos. If you actively use aerial maps in work or play, or could benefit from having personalized aerial maps for knowledge or comparison reasons in your life's pursuit, check out the toolbox of information in this book.

Meh. Not a lot of information you can't already find on the internet. Limited examples, and no actionable steps to take.
There is a lot of talk about the methodologies behind photogrammetry, and how drones work. Literally the first half of the book assumes you don't know anything about drones and aerial photography/mapping. I knew enough to do some research, and have been familiarizing myself with the techniques and tools, and feel that if you've done the same, you'll have the same issue with this book.

Overpriced and Disappointing
Had great hopes for this book, but wound up totally disappointed. With a few google searches, you can find not only all the information in this book, but a lot more.At best, and that is stretching things, it's a cursory survey. For that reasonI would NOT recommend this book to anyone seriously interested in aerial mapping, especially given the grossly over inflated price.

Save your money! As others have mentioned, Google ...
Save your money! As others have mentioned, Google can provide you more information than this book. In fact, this book references the internet frequently in its pages. The case studies are light on details. The information contained here is not in keeping with its price. A field guide, as its tagline suggests, this is not.

There's good info here
There's good info here. Getting to be a bit out of date in spots. Worth having if the price was half. Overpriced.

Meh.
This book seems hastily put together, riddled with typing and grammatical errors, no sense of consistency, very repetitive. The internet has been much more helpful to me. It seems to be made of high quality materials though.

The only book I have found to understand photogrammetry using drones
If you want to learn more about photogrammetry using drones this is the right book for you. Learn the step to organise your project, how does the software works and what is a 3D points cloud or an orthomosaic.
