“You will never mention me or my favors, nor will you disclose what favors we trade. I am a ghost to you.” Or a genie. I think a genie is way less scary, don't you? Kristy Marie brings you a laugh out loud comedy about what happens when a hot mess of a girl takes down the resident bad boy. It’s official. I, Ainsley James, am crazy. Desperate and crazy. It’s the only explanation as to why I’m nauseous, standing outside Maverick Lexington’s door. I mean, it’s possible the stories about his deck of playing cards—with the words IOU scrawled across the back—are just rumors of the ruthless quid pro quo deals he barters. But the flutters in my stomach know better. Maverick is as cold as they come. But, I need one of those cards. I NEED to owe Maverick Lexington a favor… Review: steamy and so good - Kristy Marie did it again. This story is fun, tension-filled and sexy! I couldn't put it down for a single second, it's so addicting and sooooo good. I LOVE IT! When Ainsley is betrayed by her roommate and her boyfriend in the worst possible way and left homeless, she decides to ask for help from Maverick, a mysterious guy everyone fears and everyone owes favors to, and after he agrees to let her live in his apartment for a few days, neither of them could have imagined the explosive attraction they would feel for each other. Wow their scenes are deliciously hot, their electrifying chemistry jumps off the pages, my tablet nearly spontaneously combusted! And the banter is off the charts!! I die for them. Mav is such a sweet grumpy and Ainsley is such a sunshine, they are perfect for each other. I loved Coop, Boss and Sebastian, and of course Aspen and Benneth! I can't wait to read more of them!. IOU is UNPUTDOWNABLE, it is a flirty and steamy slow burn romance, and I'm obsessed with the characters, a standing ovation for the author and her magical stories that always leave me wanting more. Perfect for fans of Grumpy x sunshine Slow burn Forced proximity Romcom Steamy College romance Review: Roommates to Lovers done right - What happens when you walk in to your apartment that you share with your roommate only to find her and your boyfriend "in the act"? You start an accidental fire, of course. And get yourself kicked out of said apartment and its premises. IOU starts off with a bang and had me feeling so bad for Ainsley. She's just a young woman in a crappy situation. Maybe a little naive, but I loved her sense of humor, sarcasm and her heart. But then Bostic steps up! I didn't know his place in the story, but I fell for that man. Tell me there is more to his story, please. Without a place to live and in a precarious situation at work, Ainsley ends up on the doorstep of Maverick, an infamous college student that no one truly knows . He's notorious for his deck of cards and granting people wishes, but at a price. And at this point, Ainsley would do anything for a peaceful night of sleep. Maverick and Ainsley were total opposites but an utter delight. Quirky Ainsley and Broody Maverick made this story go 'round. Although Maverick is a grump, it's his supportive ways of Ainsley and the way he pushes her that had me smiling as I turned those pages to see what these two would get up to next. And the way Ainsley saw right through Maverick and his actions? Perfection. I couldn't get enough of these two and the way they interacted and pushed each other's buttons. The tension and the humor was electrifying. With a little bit of a slow burn and all the roommate tension, Kristy Marie had me smiling and enjoying Ainsley and Maverick's story. Even when there were some secrets being hidden, I liked how Maverick came to bat for Ainsley and supported his woman. I couldn't help but enjoy how these two were strangers, turned roommates, turned maybe friends to absolute lovers. A Solid 4 stars. A fun and enjoyable book with characters that you can't help but fall in love with.

Such a Fun Enemies to Lovers!!! Must Read!!!
🃏Alpha 🃏Enemies-to-Lovers 🃏Romcom . "No big deal. Women lose their sh*t all the time. If they didn’t, men would act like they ran the world. A little bit of crazy never hurt anyone." . Review: This was my first book by Kristy Marie and I immediately loved it. First thing I did was buy a signed copy off her website. It is a story unlike anything I have ever read and I absolutely loved it! . Ainsley is a little eccentric at times, but hopeful. She followed her boyfriend to med school and gave up her dreams to be with him. Only to come home after work and find the unexpected. Now she is homeless and trying to start over. . Maverick is mysterious, growly and the one people go to when they need a favor. Everyone wants to be him. To the outside world Maverick has everything at his fingertips. The guy has more rumors circulating about him than should be possible. . Ainsley's life is literally going up in flames. She ends up homeless, friendless and loveless. She unknowingly meets Maverick one night in an unfortunate encounter. The next day she goes to the "one who grants favors" desperately looking for a place to live. Maverick begrudgingly decides to help her find a place all the while she crawls under his skin. This is a fun, sexy, flirty tension filled slow burn romance. But not too slow! The banter between Ainsley and Maverick was everything! I laughed so hard and so many times! I highlighted so many parts in this book! The chemistry between these two was delicious! There are a few things I was completely surprised by in the best way! Their character growth was my favorite. They are so good for each other! Really...everyone should read this book! I am reading Mavericks best friend Sebastian's story now in Subscriber Wars!😝 Edited to Add: I just listened to the audiobook by Heather Firth and Jacob Morgan. This was my first book narrated by Heather and I think she such a great job bringing Ainsley to life. She was literally perfect! Jacob Morgan, is one of my FAVORITE narrators. He did an amazing job as Maverick further cementing Maverick as one of my favorite men! I highly recommend not only this book, but this audiobook! I loved it!

LOVED IT! Hilarious & sweet romance!
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS! SO MUCH!!! IOU has snagged a spot on my top reads for 2020 AND a place on my REAL LIFE BOOKSHELF! I think I smiled pretty much this entire book! Well...except the very beginning where I might have yelled “THROW ANOTHER ONE!! GET HIM!!” You’ll understand why when you read it and you’ll most likely be saying the exact same thing!! Ainsley and Maverick both sucked me in faster than I ever expected. I honestly didn’t know what to expect with this book but I love Kristy’s writing so much so I figured I’d love it. Other than reading the blurb and maybe one teaser scene I pretty much went in blind and I was definitely rewarded with an amazing book! I absolutely adore Ainsley’s character! For the first time in a long time I was probably more loyal to the heroine in a book than the hero. Don’t get me wrong...Maverick is totally swoon-worthy but Ainsley is kind, fiercely strong and absolutely adorable in that quirky humorous way. She’s the perfect examply of what I look for in a heroine! OH MAN...but Maverick.. The moment I met Maverick, not only did I need his secrets but I couldn’t wait for these two characters to meet. He has his walls up so high, not letting anyone in or close enough to find out who he really is! That is until a feisty heartbroken girl shows up asking for a favor. I loved their back and forth, the effortless banter between these two will leave you in giggle fits. I didn’t even try to resist falling head over boots for this book or the characters inside that world! I knew I was a goner after the first couple paragraphs. There’s just so many things to love about it! One thing for sure, I can always trust Kristy to throw some baseball in there somewhere and I love her for that!! This book was filled with all kinds of goodies! I laughed, I teared up, then I laughed again...pretty much the entire book. I squealed when I read certain little parts. There’s just so many gems in IOU! Kristy is one of my 1-click authors, so it didn’t surprise me that I loved it! I love every book of hers that I’ve read and they always leave me dying for more and not just more from the world. Speaking of...I can’t wait for more of this one!

Not bad
I liked the idea of this book and I loved maverick and Ainsley. My issue is that Ainsely was “too observant.” It was a if no one besides one friend could figure him out. But honestly anyone could if they spent enough time with him, which Ainsley did because of her favor. It wasn’t a bad book nor did the characters lack chemistry. It just made it seem like she only got him because she was living with him. That anyone not stuck up could have had him if they made a effort.

Light and easy
It's been awhile since I've enjoyed a college romance this much, but Marie did such a great job of making these characters relatable... even if the storyline is a little unusual! I've been loving Marie's lighthearted romances recently, so I decided to check out the one that always puzzled me: IOU. Yeah, the storyline is kinda weird. I don't think it'll really make sense until you dig in, but that was all part of the fun. It felt fresh and different, with an easygoing, playful vibe. Once things get going (it takes WAY too long for our couple to officially meet), I had no trouble bingeing this. The characters were both likable, their chemistry was apparant, and the forced proximity/roommates storyline was a major win. I also wanted to see what secrets this unusual hero was keeping, and that made the story all the more devourable. It's not the BEST book that I've read from Marie, but I had a whole lot of fun checking it out. The story follows Ainsley, a college student who needs a place to stay. After discovering that her boyfriend was cheating with her roommate, Ainsley is desperate for a new place... but the fire she started during the breakup means that no one will give her a room. Out of options, Ainsley enlists the help of the mysterious, intimidating guy on campus who is known for dealing in favors. Ainsley really isn't sure what Maverick does exactly, but she does know that she can make a request and he'll honor it in exchange for an unspecified favor down the road. The only problem? Since no one will take Ainsley, Maverick is stuck giving her a room himself - and that is definitely an issue. Not only is Mav attracted to the hot mess of a girl, but letting her get close could cause the house of cards he's built to come crashing down. College romances haven't been resonating with me recently, but this was so unusual that it worked from the start. There's not a ton of drama, and the light, sexy vibe made it easy to binge. I do wish that Mav and Ainsley had met sooner, but once the initial setup was done, this read a lot better. I've definitely never read a book with a plot even close to this one, which is always a bonus. And I love a good roommates romance, especially if it's against their will, lol. There was just enough friction to keep things interesting, and I was genuinely curious about what was going on with Mav. I liked it a whole lot, other than a couple of minor issues (and someone probably should've told Marie ahead of time that "spirit animal" is not an acceptable term to use). This also acts as a series starter to three loosely-connected books. I've read (and loved) The Closer, and had no problem enjoying it out of order. Overall, it's a fun and sexy college romance with an intriguing twist. Audio note: The audio was good! It's dual narration, with Jacob Morgan - who is always great to listen to. The story lends itself perfectly to the format, and the runtime (just over 8 hours), is ideal for bingeing in one day. It's light and low angst with a little bit of heat, so this makes a solid workday listen for the most part. The slow burn romance worked well in audio, and the narration upped the playfulness. I've got no complaints about the audio.

An Unforgettable Rom Com Read!
“𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐬. 𝐒𝐡𝐞’𝐬 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞; 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧’𝐭 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐭.“ There are seriously no words for how much I loved this story! The one liners left me with literal tears in my eyes and a sore stomach from laughing so hard. That sexual tension? Holy hot dayum, Kristy Marie knows exactly how to warm you up in all the best ways. This woman is a freaking beast at delivering the absolute perfect romantic comedy. “𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐜𝐥𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐲. 𝐃𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐞𝐞 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐬**** 𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐟*** 𝐚𝐧𝐲𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐞𝐲𝐞𝐬?” Ok this is the best line like ever. I legit just lost it hearing this. When she said this to Maverick, I howled with raucous laughter for like five minutes straight. It was just so Ainsley. She was so gusty and ridiculous, so brazen. Maverick stood not a single chance against her. And oh my swooning heart, Maverick though? Where do I begin with this slab of sexy man meat? Delectably stubborn yet unconsciously sweet and considerate. Hello zaddy. Now as much as I love every couple by Kristy, Maverick and Ainsley are giving everyone a run for the top spot. They were just spectacular! That banter between these two was straight up yum-tastic. They gave me my life with every second I had watching them fight and fall for each other. Then to top off this perfection of a story was Heather Firth and Jacob Morgan narrating and they were simply amazing as Ainsley and Maverick.

So much fun!
This is a surprising book. Not knowing what to expect, I just started reading and was delightfully surprised! It’s fun, serious, goofy, sad, and happy, along with lots of other adjectives that could be used here. It’s thought-provoking—who knew that how you word a question can be more important than the question?? And that the results might be way different than expected?? Maverick is an enigma to almost everyone on his college campus. He grants ‘favors’ to people who need them, and trades them a playing card with ‘IOU’ written on it. It’s all very secretive and rumors abound about him. Ainsley walks in on her roommate and boyfriend unexpectedly, to find them in an extremely compromising position, which leads to her throwing a lit candle at them, and accidentally catching the curtains on fire. Thus, her apartment manager kicks her out of her own apartment, and her boyfriend dumps Ainsley for the roommate. Ainsley is subsequently homeless, but finds a good friend in the fire captain who shows up to put out the fire. It’s a pretty cool opening scene, and one that leads to the rest of this interesting story…but you’ll need to read it for yourself to find out what else happens!

Intriguing, sexy and funny.
This has been on my TBR for ages and I've now read it in preparation for the sequel, You Owe Me. I loved Maverick and Ainsley story! It lived up to my expectations. I enjoyed the mystery of Maverick, the gutsiness of Ainsley, and the way they circled around each other, fighting their attraction. I adored the way she broke down Maverick's walls bit by bit, and I loved the way he broke his own rules for her. She was the gamble he never saw coming, and he was the HEA she never expected. This story was well-crafted and I loved how everything circled around. It was intriguing, sexy and funny.

Better than expected!
I wasn't sure what I was going into with this. I just knew I wanted some fun with lots of laughs and great banter. This book delivered! It was sweet, hilarous, and the banter was on point. I loved all of Ainsleys antics and Mavs grumpiness. While it was a lot slower in the burn department than I'm used to, I didn't care because this book had everything else. The ending was perfection! This is my first book by this author, and I've already downloaded Coopers' story to start next. I'll definitely be checking out all her other books, too!

Absolutely loved it
IOU is a romantic comedy by Kristy Marie. This book was my first read by this author and i absolutely loved it. Ainsley and Maverick are so funny, sweet and hot together. Maverick is this hot and brooding guy, most people are afraid of. And Ainsley is this lovely, caring girl, who can act a little crazy at times. You can feel the chemestry between these two from the very beginning. I really enjoyed reading this book. It's one of my favorite reads in 2020. If you're looking for a light in these dark times, this is the perfect book for you.
