Fantastic media storage
I spent a great deal of time last year trying to find a replacement for our old dvd cabinet that was stuffed to overflowing and damaged by time, weight, and children/pets. It was of a style with storage both on the shelves as well as in the doors, doubling the capacity without increasing the footprint a huge amount, extremely important in our small home. I was struggling a great deal to find a replacement. Most shelving I was finding actually held considerably fewer. Most that were an improvement were a great deal larger in width, which wouldn’t work with our limited space. I found a couple of options that were essentially like ours, only with two stacked on top of each other, which seemed questionable to me given the way the doors on ours sagged and deformed over time from the weight. Then I found this! The amounts it holds almost seemed like overkill when coming from storage that held 250ish dvds, but the smaller ones didn’t seem like we’d be future proofing enough, especially if I wanted to free up other shelf space elsewhere from the video games (which I did). We went ahead and followed the recommendation to get a metal lazy Susan for the turning mechanism. We never tried the plastic one it came with, but we found it extremely dubious that it would hold up over time. It seemed way too flimsy and seeing what fifteen years of use did to the manufactured wood of our last case, it just didn’t seem possible that plastic would last. Now we’ve had it a bit over a year. It’s holding up great so far. The material for each individual shelf is thin enough I wonder about its longevity, but so far so good. The shelf with the Buffy season dvds appears to be sagging just a tad at the front, but this will be less of a potential issue for any collection that isn’t going back 20+ years with the greatly reduced packaging that’s become standard. The footprint was a bit bigger than I pictured from the dimensions because of the extra space needed for the corners to turn past the wall, but it still was within the bounds of our limited space. My husband assembled it and it’s been over a year, so I don’t recall how easy it was. My waving him at the reviews here was sufficient for him to put it together complete with the extra metal hardware, so it must not have been too bad.On an amusing note, it’s become one of the favorite spots for the cats. They all love sitting on top and the two smaller ones sometimes pretend to be DVDs and sit on the bottom in an empty shelf. Those two seem doomed to some disappointment in the future, though, as my DVD acquisition bumped up considerably once I actually had room again. That can also be attributed to the greedy media companies out there, who took a great thing in Netflix streaming and destroyed it, making it easier and cheaper to just spend $5-10 on a movie on physical media and not have to play guessing games over which service has what now and are we subscribed (and is far cheaper than buying digitally only to have the content yanked at a whim). If you have a lot of physical media and expect to get more, this is a great investment for long term organization. Don’t let renting rather than ownership of your entertainment become standard!

This is a well designed media tower.
The media could not be loaded. What I thought was the only piece that was lacking quality- The coaster supplied which looks like a brown plastic snowflake- its a joke compared to the rest of the unit. I bought a steel coaster with ball bearings for less than 20 bucks and centered it by eye on the bottom wood plate. I also prelubed the bearings with a little motorcycle chain lube that turns solid after a bit. You could use any spray lube like white grease etc. Not that you need to lube the bearings this is not going to spin non stop. I just did it to stop possible rust as it will not be coming apart. I also used dots of wood glue on the panels but that really is not necessary it just makes it more solid end of the day. They give you plenty of shelves and shelf pins which I used a plastic mallet to drive in due to arthritis in the hands. The instructions warn not to drive those pins in so I tapped them in slowly and had no issues at all. The case is full with dvds on top and the extra shelves on top and it spins like a dream. This was pricey but will last my lifetime and more. I wish i had bought it sooner. I highly recommend you don't use the supplied coaster but buy the steel one off amazon or where ever. There is a center pin that goes through the base panel and then the rotating panel that sits on top of the coaster so it can't slide off the coaster. I lined up the coaster by eye and put wood glue on one side of it so it does not try to move and it turns just fine without precisely measuring the coaster to dead center. The supplied coaster is made so the metal pin centers it but the better coaster has a huge hole in the center so you can line it up by eye or measure it out as you wish. Do not put glue on the angle bracket screws as they just fit depth wise and it you put glue on them they could pop through the other side of the panel. I glued all the steal lock screws and dowls in and laid glue in the long slot the panels lay it but that was it except for the coaster. A wet sponge cleans off any glue that oozes out of the panel. Do not put in a lot of wood glue if you decide to use it just put in a few dots here and there. One photo shows the top with out the top plate installed so you can see how it goes together. This comes in two boxes and is fairly heavy. The boxes were torn up after a trip across the country but due to good packaging the products were all intact and not damaged. I laid out all the pieces and read the instructions. Do that on this one guys. Then it took about 3 hours to leisurely assemble it.

Craft Storage!
This is perfect organization for my Stampin' Up stamp cases. It holds a lot. However I replaced the lazysusan with a more durable one that can support the weight. It was missing one of the bases, but after a call to customer service, it was quickly sent out.

Rack it up to experience!
It arrived well packaged and although well packaged had two chips in the wood.On top of that the (what’s labeled as) D panels are easily damaged with any type of fall while setting up, especially once fastened to the base. The company would definitely benefit from a step by step video on how to assemble the rack. The supplied instructions aren’t the best and seems incomplete and confusing. I found a better set of instructions online. With that said the rack even with its flaws looks pretty good once put together and is pretty solid once up and everything is connected. My top had a small gap in it which couldn’t be fixed with adjustments but still looks pretty good. Would I buy again? Knowing what I know now on how to assemble the rack. My answer is “yes”. For the price I don’t think you’ll find a better looking rack or a better sized rack. Better instructions or a video would definitely benefit the company. More clearly marked red and blue ends, definitely put more emphasis on how badly damaged the panels might be with a fall(careful making adjustments). More details on the step by step instructions.Customer service responds promptly and ships out what you need quickly.

Worth the money!
The media could not be loaded. Love it! Easily put together in less than 2 hrs by myself. I have over 800 dvds, blu-rays ans cds and it took them all with room for more. Turns smoothly.
