The only reason I bought this new Tilley is because somebody stole my old one. Yes, people steal hats. And in this case, even though I think that's kind of gross, I understand -- Tilley makes an amazingly-durable product that looks really good and performs even better. So people want to steal it. I've had a couple of minor bouts with skin cancer, so I have to wear a hat outside, and this one avoids the "Well, I guess he HAS to wear a hat, so we won't make fun of him" problem. The hat's extremely well-designed -- an "air-flo" vent just below the top is really effective at letting heat and sweat escape. And the brim is just wide enough to keep off sun (SPF 30+ throughout) but narrow enough so it doesn't make you look like The Flying Nun while you're outside working or recreating. Add an adjustable chin strap for when it's windy, and it's the perfect adventure hat.

Fantastic hat that was produced to the highest standards. I have looked at a lot of hats, tried many and this one actually does what it says it will do. I look forward to using it for years. Very light weight, packable, strong attention to detail, attractive and is fit to size! FYI - they are true to size and it shows in their craftsmanship. Thank you for such a great hat. Also, I have the dark blue and it isn't too hot in the sun. Kudos on the breathability and water resistance.

Model LTM6 Airflo - Broad Brim - Olive - I was reluctant to spend this much on a hat after disappointing results with other hat purchases. The brims all flopped down in my face even without wind. I am glad I purchased the Tilley hat, it is worth the money. The brim is stiff and provides good shade from the sun. The style is better than the floppy hats and does not make you look like a geek. A quality hat you will be glad you purchased. When reading other reviews I heard about the hat being delivered folded with creases that would not come out. Mine came on a thick piece of cardboard larger than the brim of the hat with the crown folded down. The crown just popped up and was free of creases immediately. The brim was perfect with no creasing. I used their measuring guide and purchased the exact size a 7 1/2, it fits perfectly, tight enough to not blow off in normal wind but not so tight that it does not feel comfortable. Do not be afraid to spend the money if you want a quality hat.

This is the first 'real' hat I have owned rather than few cheap straw hats and dozens of ball caps. This is the real deal, a Tilley Endurables product that is guaranteed for life and will wear well during that hopefully long time. I had first ordered a model T4MO and it arrived in a box only three inches in height and had smashed the top of the hat down. The box was not only too short to start off with, but it had a two inch thick air-filled plastic 'pillow' inside pushing the space down to one inch. After I began working with the hat to see if I could get the top to stand up or any part of the hat to stand up and take some kind of shape, nothing done would help the hat hold any changes made. I ordered this T4MO thinking that cotton would be a better material than the 'nylon-like' Nylamtium material that is used in several of the other Tilley products. The Nylamtium fooled me, it does not look like a synthetic material at all. My mistake, the T4MO hat made of cotton will just fall down, droop, and not hold much shape at all. This I shipped back with no problems at all by Amazon, which is how all my Amazon orders have been so far.I soon received my new LTM6 Tilley Hat and it is identical in appearance to the other hat I had returned, except it stands up by itself and holds some of the adjustments you can make with the brim, back, and sides. This hat is the only one I have ever seen that I actually liked as much as I did to buy it for myself. Going through Amazon saved me a sizeable chunk of change that came to about one-third off and both hats were delivered on the date that had been given at the time I placed the order. If you want a hat that will last you a lifetime, Tilley Endurables will replace it free if it is worn out. They also have a warranty on the loss or destruction of your Tilley Hat, , so if you forget it somewhere when out and about or your dog eats the hat, just have your receipt and Tilley will replace your lost or destroyed hat for ½ price of a new hat for up to two years. This insurance policy and warranty are very good, and you even get an Owner's Manual with your Tilley. Their web site reads like something geared to sell to yuppie-types and that buying their hat will be a life changing event. It tells you everything you ever needed to know about your Tilley Hat including how to put it on your head #!# and hat tips and info from the Tilley Endurables web site. Search Google for 'tilley hat' and the results will likely also give the site for a 'Tilly' site without the 'e' in their name, close but no cigar. I really enjoying owning and wearing a useful and damn good looking hat even having a full head of hair still on my noggin.Tilley tells you over and over not to buy a hat that is too small. They tell you how to measure your head an give a conversion chart to use in choosing your hat size. The ideal way is to be able to try them on as Tilley recommends that you should be able to put two fingers between your forehead and hat. Mine is not that loose, but feels right and is not too loose to blow away readily, and not too small to be tight. It was no problem at all swapping out the hats as Amazon took care of everything with zero hassle, gotta love how they do business.If you want to step up from ball caps or wear something different for a change, the Tilley Hats are great and I would readily and strongly checking out Amazon's large selection of these very cool hats. I have become a hat wearer for life. 5/5 Stars!

Folks: I have a few of these hats and they all work great and when I go to see my doctor who takes care of my skin, the last things she says to me every visit is don't go anywhere without your hat. I wear one if I am outside, no exceptions. I never wore a hat, it would mess up my hair, yes that was me, and now I have to wear a hat all the time. So, I got a Tilly hat for the first time at of all places, a flea market, and what a deal that was. I love it for day one, and now it is about the only one I will get. Yes, they are a little pricy, but how many good things in your life, don't cost more than many others. But you can find bargains sometimes so look for them when you can but really the price in not that high anymore, so great deal for the money. I will have only one suggestion, I have a green one, a tan one, a off white one, and I have only one that people almost everyone I meet for the first, time, they say, wow, I love that hat. Some will even ask you if you would get rid of it to them. NO, NO, NO. It is the Navy Blue one, take my word for it, you will get remarks. Good Luck. Bob

I find it surprisingly comfortable and airy. Size was correct and although a tad on the expensive side, it does shade my ears and neck very well.Not a fan of the chin straps but they are easily removed. It's a good hat for a fisherman to keep him out of the dermatologist office!

Yes, it is pricy but beautifully made and fits great. The other hats I tried looked ridiculous. This one makes me look respectable. But mostly it feels good on my head.
